Dated 09/26/2025 so about 5 days ago. Im not 100% certain as to when the above TV program happened OR if this was repeated by Pierre Schill, Chief of Staff of the Army but given that it was said 5 days ago, and also searching the phrase: « Être prêt dès ce soir » (“Be ready tonight”) on X shows results of the LePoint article from 5 days ago ( as linked ) so I am leaning more to believe this is a "be ready asap" as oppose to "actually tonight"

i confirm. he explained that the french population wouldn't understand now to be at wat to defend a far country ( the Baltics)

basically , he's saying that the french army and population should be ready to be in a high intensity war as soon as possible ( implying that we have to prepare now, which I agree)

Today's Russian strike on one of our power substations in Slavutych caused a blackout at the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant for more than three hours. This, in particular, is a new shelter that protects the environment from the remains of the fourth power unit of the plant after the 1986 explosion and radioactive debris and dust. It is also a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, which stores 80% of all spent fuel that has been accumulated during the operation of the nuclear power plant. These are spent fuel assemblies with a total weight of over 3,250 tons.

The Russians could not have known that the strike on the facilities in Slavutych would have such consequences for Chernobyl. And it was a targeted strike, in which they used more than 20 drones - according to preliminary estimates, Russian-Iranian "shaheeds". Some of these drones were shot down, but the strike was organized by a wave of drones to complicate the protection of the facility.

At the same time, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is in its eighth day of blackout, which began due to Russian shelling in the area of the plant. And the Russians are doing absolutely nothing to correct the situation and allow Ukrainian specialists to restore external power to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which should function continuously under normal conditions. Russia is deliberately creating the threat of radiation incidents, taking advantage, unfortunately, of the weak position of the IAEA and Director Rafael Grossi, as well as the dispersion of global attention.

To correct the situation, weak and half-hearted solutions will not work. Every day that Russia prolongs the war, Russia's refusal to accept a complete and reliable ceasefire, and Russia's constant attacks on all our energy facilities, including those on which the safety of nuclear power plants and other nuclear infrastructure depends, is a global threat. Including the Chernobyl and Zheleznodorozhny nuclear power plants, there are five nuclear power plants in Ukraine, and each of them could be a target for Russian drones and missiles.

It is important that the countries of Europe, the United States, the G7 and G20 countries actually act for peace and security to the fullest extent possible. A strong response and appropriate pressure on Russia are needed to protect life. I am grateful to everyone in the world who is not silent.
