Flu Outbreak More Deadly & Severe Since 1997

Though just like all the other illnesses that are spreading rapidly today it is because of covid measures. Because we protect ourselves from covid we protected ourselves from a lot of other viruses. So a lot of people don't have resistance/immunity to the newest strains of the flu because of Covid restrictions.

I dont know, all I know is my abs hurt from coughing so much and it has to be either rsv or the flu.
I have never gotten so sick as I am now.Covid destroyed my appetite and I have not recovered(in an infuriating way,, mental block but still hungry), and now I have something else that I damn near was about to go to the doctor for, with this NASTY cough.So I'm just sitting here hungry but cant eat, as has been my life for a month now.

Flu outbreaks in general are nasty and we will see more and more and more articles saying "worse flu outbreak", because they are getting worse and worse. Mother nature is stretched too thin and trying real hard to maybe have a few less humans..

This cold and flu season has been terrible compared to last season, I lost a good 10 days work due to illness in 2 months. I believe that the "tripledemic" is very real, although hardly a "pandemic" in its own right.

Hospitals up here are full to overflowing with rvs, influenza and covid . Children’s hospitals having to send kids to emerg rooms,because no room. Covid restrictions really messed up our immune systems.

I personally suspect we’ll see more issues with children. Many Children especially newborns were isolated and consequently will not have some very basically immune protections.

This is our world, want wide spread trade and travel. Well this is a consequence however in time the population will adjust to a wider scope of viruses. But it’s never neat because as the population pool expands so to expands the pool for mutations to occur.

Sad. But @everyone these are some very true words spoken here.

To progress means being more globally connected. Being more globally connected leads to increase in new or mutated viruses/diseases, or new ideas too which can be perceived as threats.

We will overcome this. But not without struggle. But all progress in human history didn't come without struggle...

Not only that but the earth actually is quite overpopulated, we live in cities in the millions these days, the population density of entire countries is through the roof, and several states, most cities. A lot more humans, all it takes is 1 with a new disease these days, even well spreading sicknesses didnt stand much of a chance to spread beyond a small group for most of human history, even once we lived in cities it was often other diseases that got us, as a novel disease may have only affected a small settlement or maybe even some rural family.
Mother nature will attempt to do her job and control our population as long as we are overpopulated.

And I have had the other option. not too far from where I live it can become more in the range of acres per person. The solitude can be exhilarating and intimidating at the same time
