French Nuclear Forces Possibly on Heighten Alert

If I had to swing in the dark this might just France finally making the decision to show their arms as well. Sometimes that discussion can take a bit depending on country to country.

Yes I am not on the edge of my seat with JUST this news.

NOW IF the UK or US start moving strategic assets around then I think we would have a problem. But so far no sign at all of other nuclear states moving their nukes around.
 
I think the fact that the French moved first is very telling. All of those subs could be under NATO control at the moment.

Im sure the US knows whatever was said between France and Russia.

If the Brits sail their Carriers and their subs go missing overnight then it’s time to worry because ours will be leaving port with skeleton crews just to avoid being hit.

Subs can dive straight out of port and be safe so the others are probably trying not to freak Russia out but know that the French subs are enough deterrent for now.

I am sure they have. Maybe just for exercises. Though unaware if they have ever all been out not for a exercise.
 
Ok ...what I have a problem with here is that we know that the US never ever ever says anything about its force posture, either conventional or nuclear, yes?? So one might just assume that France, wishing to observe and practice similar OPSEC, would not reveal anything either...... I think that might be valid assumption.....maybe more valid than whoever is Shashank Joshi the purported author of this piece of weighty but...might I add, seemingly unsubstantiated brilliant nugget of information thats caused all of the fanning and fluttering and chattering here....... now couple things..... and bear in mind I have zero qualifications in any of this other than I spent a number of years in journalism back when there was such a thing ok??
So has Shashank been able to look out his front window at the pier(s) where France keeps its undersea nuclear deterrent and count the number of boats alongside??
Or has he been able to walk or creep or bicycle to some high vantage point to effect the same?
Or is he quoting his brother's nephew's great uncle's cousin's half sister's best friend's session with a ouija board and a Tarot deck? Inquiring minds want to know because....
Anyone with a few $$ and so inclined may talk to any number of civilian overhead imagery companies as a basic start to see if said French boats are or are not alongside where they live when not at sea.......
I have read back through the posts in this thread and possibly have missed corroborating testaments on the veracity of this..... anyone corroborate it??
I used to post here somewhat more than I have recently. I still rely more or less on whats here primarily the opinions of the moderators and director and his people aboutwhere and what might happen. I have not been around due to a somewhat serious dance with Covid and having been off my feet for 2 months--- but I am enough of an ass/(%$le where it decided to throw me back. Anyway..... any corroboration on this??

pretty sure they are especially no there^^ the purpose of those subs are to be hidden, untargetable, to be a threat, like "ok, you want to attack france, but be careful, those subs, you don't know where they are, if you attack, they will strike"

so, i'm pretty sure they are especially not there

Maybe not for nuclear deterrence but just good old conventional options. They may be near there if article is true.

Obviously this is unverified information, but the post says three of the four submarines are at sea, not all four.
