Global Energy Crisis | 2022

Everyone's blowing it out of proportion. Since China is taking a dive the energy market is not so tight. Does not look like China is going to bounce back anytime soon so we all good.

Even by the time China bounces back in a year or two we will have shored up more resources and increased production.
It could be decades before China recovers. (the guardian so take with salt)
There will be a natural gas crisis(in Europe), not an oil crisis.
I think all it will take is one little event somewhere to finally bring the house of cards down.
You know, though, doesn't matter how much energy costs if you aint got no money anyway. Which is where we are headed, I believe. What happens in China wont stay in China in a stressed global economy.

Thats what people don't realize - oil prices dropping aren't a good sign for the global economy, at least right now.

simple answer covid 19 - when you have a economic upturn ( recovery ) = more demand, but the production of energy is less then before = higher prices - So why do we not produce the same amount as before? = profit? ( rabbit hole )

The production of energy is not less than before. The demand on the grid continually increases. Our capacity is increased throughout the year, every year to continually meet the demand. Every year we have record MWh days, meaning we have surpassed previous high demand days.

As far as covid goes, yes it had a significant impact on manpower, however we did not lack generation capabilities. That is unless of course you live in California....This week there will be yet again multiple blackouts and brownouts there. Curious how all of those people will keep their electric vehicles charged with an unreliable grid? California among other states are jumping on the bandwagon of having no fossil fuel burning vehicles on the road by 2035, only electric which will be a massive increase to energy demand. We can not support the current green energy push as it is. The idea of going green sounds great, however in reality it not so great. Just for fun, research what it takes to build a battery pack for an electric vehicle from strip mining to final product. I am not against the idea, just in the manner we are jumping head first into. The more we rely on "green energy", the more we will see widespread blackouts and brownouts. We need to focus more on technology in order to safely, effectively and responsibly transition.

Who is this "We"?
States - world - energy producers

So you dislike my simple answer but you acknowledge my point? Forexample Crude oil April 2020 we had a production of 82.59 million barrels a day - Looking at April 2022 it is about 79.60 million barrels a day.

You are referring to crude production. I am referring to power production. It is possible that crude production is less, however fuel oil, natural gas and coal usage in our power plants has not reduced because the demand has not decreased. Guess I did not realize I disliked your post as I didnt mean to, I will correct.

Was my mistake also, I should have pointed it out that its the needed materials for power production that went down. And I think thats why it was a calculated move from Putin to go into Ukraine he knew the Europians where trying to switch to greener Energy.

And may have a positive long term move away from oil to greener solutions in more fields. Is this putin shooting his big toe in terms of income from oil?

It will be 1 step back for greener solutions to go back to coal this winter, ( sanctions on Russian crudeoil will apply 5 dec 2022 ) and perhaps 2023. It will take time for Russia to build the same oil export infrastructure to India/China so short term Russia will not gain as much income from oil. ( edit; Russias Gazprom announced a large surplus, it might cover the years ahead for the switch - the rabbit hole covid-question is of wether it was planned or just a seized oppotunity )
