Macron says Israel PM ‘mustn’t forget his country created by UN decision’:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should not forget his country was created as a result of a resolution adopted by the United Nations, French President Emmanuel Macron told cabinet on Tuesday, urging Israel to abide by UN decisions. Tensions have increased between Netanyahu and Macron with the French leader last week insisting that stopping the export of weapons used by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon was the only way to stop the conflicts.
France has also repeatedly denounced Israeli fire against UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, who include a French contingent.

“Mr Netanyahu must not forget that his country was created by a decision of the UN,” Macron told the weekly French cabinet meeting, referring to the resolution adopted in November 1947 by the United Nations General Assembly on the plan to partition Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state.

“Therefore this is not the time to disregard the decisions of the UN,” he added, as Israel wages a ground offensive against the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, where the UN peacekeepers are deployed.
His comments from the closed door meeting at the Elysee Palace were quoted by a participant who spoke to AFP and asked not to be named.

Not sure if anyone has noticed like in Taiwan thread. But I am not going to use OSINT twitter sources anymore. We all need to learn not to depend on them and find the information for ourselves and not be fed it.

I ENCOURAGE others to do the same here. If you see a OSINT account on twitter tweet information try and find the original source/article rather then use the OSINT tweet. Plus the original sources gives us more information than a single tweet ever could.

Only going to use direct, legitimate, verifiable, reputable sources & articles from here on out.

Though will continue to share local Hebrew or Arbic media & twitter handles as sometimes can't avoid it they report things first before reputable western sources pick it up naturally with anything in the Middle East.

US raised concerns with Israel over bombing campaign in Beirut, State Dept says:
WASHINGTON: The United States opposes the bombing campaign that Israel has carried out in Beirut in past weeks and has communicated its concerns particularly over the civilian death toll, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Tuesday. “There are specific strikes that it would be appropriate for Israel to carry out. But when it comes to the scope and nature of the bombing campaign that we saw in Beirut for the past few weeks, it’s something that we made clear to the government of Israel we had concerns with and we were opposed to,” Miller said.
The civilian death toll was among Washington’s concerns, he said, without elaborating. Miller’s comments represent a harsher tone than Washington has adopted so far toward Israel’s military operations in Lebanon, which Israel says are aimed at degrading Iran-aligned Hezbollah and pushing its forces north and away from the border. Israel dramatically escalated its bombing campaign of Lebanon in recent weeks, hitting Hezbollah’s strongholds of south Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut and the eastern Bekaa region. Other areas of Lebanon have also been hit.
The hostilities had been playing out along Lebanon’s southern border with Israel since October last year in parallel with Israel’s offensive in Gaza that was triggered by Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel. Israeli strikes have killed at least 2,350 people over the last year, the Lebanese health ministry said, and more than 1.2 million people in Lebanon have been displaced. The majority have been killed since late September when Israel expanded its military campaign.
Miller said Washington has seen Israeli bombing of Beirut diminish in recent days, adding that the United States would continue to monitor the situation. “We’ve seen them come down over the past few days, which is not a prediction about what will happen in the future,” he said.

Israel Tells U.S. It Won’t Hit Iran’s Oil or Nuclear Sites in Next Attack, Officials Say:
The Israeli government has told the Biden administration that it will avoid striking nuclear enrichment and oil production sites when it makes its initial response to Iran’s recent missile attack, two officials said on Tuesday.
Such a move would reduce the likelihood that Israel’s retaliation will immediately set off an all-out war between the two adversaries, amid concerns in Washington over being dragged into a bigger Middle East confrontation with the presidential election just weeks away.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomacy, said that Israel had agreed to focus its next attack on military targets in Iran, instead of those related to Iran’s oil industry or its uranium enrichment efforts. The pledge was first reported by the Washington Post.

Israel has a higher favorability rating among Americans than the US Department of Justice, NATO, or the US Supreme Court.

The Palestinian Authority and Hamas are viewed unfavorably by most Americans.

Lebanese PM Mikati says ready to deploy army to south:
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that the army was ready to be deployed south if there was a ceasefire, adding that the military has tightened the security of Beirut's airport in a bid to remove justifications for an Israeli attack. In remarks made to AFP, Mikati said that such a plan to put more soldiers in the south would happen if there was a ceasefire.
Dozens of people have been killed by Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip as Israel continues its operations in north Gaza, trapping 400,000 civilians in a tight siege. Ten people were killed in attacks on Khan Younis, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa, which also reported that six civilians were killed in airstrikes on Nuseirat refugee camp, and at least 10 killed in airstrikes across Gaza City.
The strikes on Gaza come as Israel continues its ground invasion of southern Lebanon, with Lebanon's NNA reporting that the Israeli air force struck areas in western Bekaa and Hermel, as well as a hospital in the city of Baalbek.

U.S. crude prices fall more than 4% as Israel is not expected to strike Iran’s oil industry:
U.S. crude futures fell more than 4% on Tuesday, after Israel reportedly told the U.S. that it is not planning to strike Iran’s oil facilities, relieving fears that a major supply disruption in the Middle East is on the horizon. Israel plans to limit its retaliatory strikes in Iran to military targets and does not plan to hit the Islamic Republic’s oil industry or its nuclear facilities, three senior Biden administration officials told NBC News.
Oil prices spiked earlier this month after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack against Israel, raising fears that Israel’s response could lead to a cycle of further escalation that disrupts crude supplies in the region. Geopolitical risk has completely evaporated from the market, Helima Croft, head of global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets told CNBC’s “The Exchange.”

Delta to pause flights between New York and Tel Aviv through March:
Delta Air Lines DAL.N said on Tuesday it will pause its flights between New York's JFK airport and Tel Aviv through March due to escalating conflict and safety concerns in Israel. The airline said it has issued a travel waiver for all customers who were booked on its flights to travel to and from Tel Aviv before March 31, 2025.
It had earlier suspended flights to Tel Aviv through the end of 2024. Several airlines globally have suspended their services to Israel and Lebanon while also revising schedules to avoid the Iranian and Lebanese airspace in an attempt to ensure passenger safety as security concerns rise in the region.

A fire broke out tonight at a refinery in western Iran. There is at least one dead and several wounded at the scene. Firefighters arrived at the scene and are trying to control the flames. The circumstances are being investigated.

A journalist affiliated with the Iranian regime claimed that it was a "local incident", meaning an accident and not a security incident.

Approaching an attack on Iran: the army presented a mix of targets, coordination with countries in the region:
The Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and the Chief of Staff held a security discussion that dealt with a possible attack by Israel on Iranian territory.
Israel is completing its preparations for a possible attack on Iran in response to the missile attack at the beginning of the month, and the IDF presented to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant a mix of targets for the attack. At the same time as these preparations, tensions are intensifying in the northern sector and Hezbollah refuses to separate the fighting in Lebanon from that in Gaza.

In a security discussion chaired by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Galant, various response scenarios to a possible attack on Iran were presented. The IDF presented to the political level a mix of targets for attack, and sensitive coordination is being carried out with countries in the region.
As part of the preparations, an American "TAD" battery is expected to be stationed in Israel for additional protection against a possible Iranian response. At the same time, Defense Minister Galant met with the CEOs of the government ministries to prepare the home front for a potential attack.

In the Lebanese arena, Hezbollah senior Naim Kassem stated that the organization "sticks to the demand for a ceasefire in Gaza", while sharpening the tone and refusing to separate the fighting in Lebanon from that in the Gaza Strip. This statement comes amid reports of a reduction in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon.
According to the reports, in the last five days Israel has not carried out attacks in Dahiya, Hezbollah's stronghold in Beirut. Furthermore, Israel has even issued evacuation notices for buildings that allegedly store Hezbollah ammunition. Despite ordering residents to evacuate those buildings, Israel has not yet launched an attack.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, even claimed that he had received "guarantees from the US to reduce the attacks in Dahiya". At the same time, it is reported that the partial restoration of Hizbullah's civil institutions that help the displaced in the area.

Netanyahu rejects Macron’s ceasefire proposal, says no truce without halt to Hezbollah's arms flow:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday he told French President Emmanuel Macron that he would not agree to a ceasefire deal that failed to stop Hezbollah rearming and regrouping.

Macron has called for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah as well as an end to arms exports used in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

“The Prime Minister told President Macron that he opposes a unilateral ceasefire, which would not change the security situation in Lebanon and would return the country to its previous state,” a statement from his office said.
“He emphasised that Israel is operating against the Hezbollah terrorist organization to prevent it from threatening Israel’s citizens on the northern border and to enable them to return to their homes safely.”
On Monday, France rejected demands made by Netanyahu for a UN peacekeeping mission, known as UNIFIL, to pull back from its position in Lebanon, while France has summoned Israel’s ambassador over an incident where Israeli troops opened fire at three positions held by UN peace keepers in southern Lebanon.

Netanyahu, it said, was taken aback at President Macron’s intention to host a conference in Paris on the issue of Lebanon, with participants such as South Africa and Algeria, “which are working to deny Israel its fundamental right of self-defence and, in effect, reject its very right to exist”.

Channel 14 in Israel is reporting that the Israeli Retaliation against Iran will be Significant, not Moderate, and will likely cause Iran to Respond; with them further stating, “We need to prepare for a Significant Exchange of Blows, that might drag the Americans in, which Iran certainly would not want.”

Earlier today, with the direction of the IDF Northern Command, the IAF struck dozens of Hezbollah terrorist targets in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon. The targets include terrorist infrastructure sites, Hezbollah command centers, and weapons storage facilities, which were embedded by Hezbollah adjacent to civilian infrastructure, exploiting the civilian population as a human shield.
