Iran Mid July

Britain rules out seized tanker swap with Iran (link: https://www.timesofisrael.com/britain-rules-out-seized-tanker-swap-with-iran/) -timesofisrael

The Russians would be wise not to enter the Persian Gulf. This is a can of worms that will spiral out of control if Russia wants to have its Naval ships that close to ours and British ships with Russia acting as some sort of protection while Iran attacks vessels or aircraft. Countdown to looking glass if Iran tries to in-act a toll when Russia's subs or battle cruisers show up. Russia would learn what it looks like when the US Navy goes full on Beast mode. Something it has never done since WW2.

So since Russia will hold military drills with Iran, do the Russians intend to defend Iran if the US opens a can of whoop ass on Iran for being international dicks? It dose indeed sound not good all around.

Russia did prevent the US and most Nato nations from getting the largest Naval Armada in history into striking distance of Iran back in 2008.

Remember GW Bush and Putin yelling at each other in the stands of the Olympics? That wasn't about Georgia being dumb. They made it seem that way but that was far from the truth.

The Nato Armada came to the east coast and ran practice drills under the cover of an exercise, after the exercise they all sailed to the horn of Africa not to tip anyone off.

Russia had been watching with a sub apparently and gathering much needed intel and some stupid ass told them about the plan ahead of time. Putins first move was to invade south into Georgia taking care of them while he was sending the message to Bush to back off or else.

Bush backed down and then got to see how bad the Russian forces really were anymore.

The proof that the move south by Russia was not just a hair trigger event was all those troops moved from one base in northern Russia and took absolutely every bullet and toothbrush they had with them. They first staged and exercise with Abkhazia then quickly split their forces, one through Abkhazia and one onto the South Ossetian border.

Just as the Nato Armada past the horn of Africa Russian troops started their push into South Ossetia forcing Georgia to counter attack while they still could.
