If accurate, this is the first high-level Trump administration contact with Iranian opposition figures in the current unrest and it signals Washington is actively probing post-regime narratives and leverage.

Government of Canada advises Canadians in Iran to leave now if they can do so safely. Commercial flights are limited, but overland exits are available via Armenia and Türkiye. Canada says Canadian passport holders do not need a visa to enter either country. Consular support inside Iran is extremely limited.

A former Iraqi government official has announced the participation of Iraqi armed groups in suppressing popular protests in Tehran.
