Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba leader Akram al-Kaabi reportedly rejected diplomacy with Saudi Arabia and called for military retaliation over the July 28th U.S. & Saudi strikes on Popular Mobilization Forces positions in Iraq.

The statement diverges from the Islamic Resistance in Iraq’s previously announced postponement following appeals from Hadi al-Amiri and other political figures.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi directed officials to prepare legislation placing weapons under state control during discussions with parliament’s Security and Defense Committee.

The legislation has not been enacted and does not itself constitute militia disarmament.

Separately, reports citing unnamed sources claimed IRGC Quds Force commander Esmail Ghaani opposed forcibly disarming Iraqi factions during an unannounced Baghdad visit while urging them to avoid confrontation. Those details remain insufficiently corroborated.
