Satellite images show damage from Israeli attack at 2 secretive Iranian military bases:
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — An Israeli attack on Iran damaged facilities at a secretive military base southeast of the Iranian capital that experts in the past have linked to Tehran’s onetime nuclear weapons program and at another base tied to its ballistic missile program, satellite photos analyzed Sunday by The Associated Press show.

Some of the buildings damaged sat in Iran’s Parchin military base, where the International Atomic Energy Agency suspects Iran in the past conducted tests of high explosives that could trigger a nuclear weapon. Iran long has insisted its nuclear program is peaceful, though the IAEA, Western intelligence agencies and others say Tehran had an active weapons program up until 2003.

The other damage could be seen at the nearby Khojir military base, which analysts believe hides an underground tunnel system and missile production sites.
Iran’s military has not acknowledged damage at either Khojir or Parchin from Israel’s attack early Saturday, though it has said the assault killed four Iranian soldiers working in the country’s air defense systems.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did the Israeli military.

Backbone of Iran's missile industry' destroyed by IAF strikes

IMO: The important strikes were air defense systems. Of course that is all short term. Eventually when Iran replaces them they will be one or two generations newer. For now it’s not even the expense, it’s the lack of availability as Russian systems are simply unobtainable. The window on denial is closing and only immediate action can exploit it. However, Israel has made its decision and has been cowed.

My 2¢. YMMV (but you would be wrong)

Smotrich calls to extend Israeli sovereignty across West Bank and Gaza, expand settlements:
Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich says that in the wake of October 7, Israel “can and must apply Israeli sovereignty in [the West Bank] and in Gaza.” Addressing the Middle East Summit, a conference in Jerusalem organized by Israel 365, an Israeli media outlet aimed at American evangelicals, Smotrich, head of the Religious Zionism party, says that after repeated attempts to reach a two-state solution, Israel must free itself “from wrong concepts” and make an “unequivocal Israeli statement to the Arabs and the entire world that a Palestinian state will not be established,” through “the establishment of new cities and settlements deep in the [West Bank] and bringing hundreds of thousands of additional settlers to live in them.”

In addition, he says, Israel must also extend its control to Gaza, explaining that “where there is no civilian presence, there is no long-term military presence, and unfortunately, we have seen and in the past year we have received very painful evidence that when there is no military presence for a long time, there is no security and there is an existential threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, and we must not allow this.”
"Those who do not want or are unable to put aside their national ambitions will receive assistance from us to emigrate to one of the many Arab countries where the Arabs can realize their national ambitions, or to any other destination in the world,” he continues, adding that Palestinians living in the West Bank will enjoy self-rule on the local level and that they will “manage their day-to-day lives by themselves through regional municipal administrations devoid of national characteristics.”

Addressing the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Smotrich states that Israel has very little strategic depth and cannot allow a Palestinian state “become an Iranian base.” He claims that “the absolute majority of the residents of Gaza supported Hamas and the massacre” on October 7.

Despite the conflict, he insists, Israel stands at “an historical crossroads” and says that “the expansion of the Abraham Accords is an inevitable result of the emerging Israeli victory.” The region, he says, can become “a beacon of cooperation, of strategic alliances… where former enemies become partners for a better future.”

However, to reach that future, the United States, together with other Western countries, must “overthrow the ayatollah regime in Iran and eliminate its nuclear project that threatens the State of Israel and the entire Western world.”

Amid ongoing conflicts, Israel allocates $530 million for 'Iron Beam' laser air defence system:
Israel’s defence ministry said on Monday allocated $530 million to accelerate development of the laser air defence system known as “Iron Beam”.
“The Ministry of Defence has signed a major deal worth approximately 2 billion shekels to significantly expand procurement of the laser interception systems, ‘Iron Beam,’,” AFP quoted Israel’s defence ministry as saying in a statement.
The system is aimed at improving the interception of drones and other projectiles, which Hezbollah in Lebanon has fired at Israel since the start of the war in Gaza in support of its Palestinian ally Hamas.

Saudi and Iranian top diplomats discuss need to avoid destabilizing region:
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed in a phone call with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi the importance of avoiding anything that might destabilize the region’s security, following Israel’s Saturday strikes on Iran, the Saudi foreign ministry said on Monday.
On Saturday, Israel conducted airstrikes on military sites in Iran in response to Tehran’s October 1 attack on Israel, itself retaliation for the killing of Iran-backed militant leaders and an Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander.

At least four soldiers were killed in the strikes, according to the military, and Iranian media reported Monday that a civilian was also killed in the attack.

Saudi Arabia condemned Saturday’s attack on Iran and warned against any further expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its condemnation and denunciation” of the Israeli strikes, the foreign ministry said, repeating its “firm position rejecting escalation of the conflict in the region,” which “threatens the security and the stability of countries and peoples” in the Middle East.

⚡️ISW:
6/ The Parchin complex is one the most expansive and secretive Iranian missile production facilities. Some of the targets that the IDF targeted at the missile facilities were sophisticated mixing machines used to make solid fuel for advanced ballistic missiles, such as those that Tehran has used to attack Israel directly. Iran will likely need months or possibly a year or more to acquire new mixing equipment.

US says aid not reaching Palestinians in northern Gaza’s Jabalia:
US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller says humanitarian assistance is not reaching Palestinian civilians in the northern Gaza neighborhood of Jabalia.

The IDF has been operating in Jabalia and several other surrounding towns in order to thwart what it says has been a resurgence of Hamas activity. The operations have featured mass evacuations of Palestinians and an initial two weeks during which aid was blocked from reaching northern Gaza.

This led to international alarm that Israel was implementing the so-called General’s Plan to lay siege to northern Gaza. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to publicly clarify that this is not Israel’s policy. While the premier assured him that it was not, he declined to make such a public statement, a US official told The Times of Israel.
Miller notes the assurance received by Netanyahu, adding that the US is following the matter closely and has seen some improvements in the amount of aid reaching northern Gaza over the past two weeks.

But Jabalia, in particular, continues to not receive aid, Miller says. “We don’t accept that… and we want to see that change.”

The State Department spokesperson notes that Israel will have to address such issue if it wants to remain in compliance with US law regarding receipt of US offensive weapons.

The issue was raised in a letter that the US sent Israel on October 13, warning that it had 30 days to take a series of steps to improve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“At this point, they’re not meeting all the conditions of the letter,” Miller says.

One of the issues raised in the letter was then-pending Knesset legislation to bar UNRWA from operating in Israel. While the US cautioned against the move, the bill was passed hours after Miller’s press briefing
