Israeli Army to step up preparations in West Bank ahead of possible annexation

-(6/2/20) Israel's Defense Minister Benny Gantz has told the army to step up preparations in parts of the West Bank, heightening the sense the government stands ready to make a possible dramatic announcement on annexation in the next few weeks.

In a statement Monday afternoon, Gantz said he had instructed the head of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) "to accelerate [its] preparations ahead of political steps on the agenda in the Palestinian arena."

Israeli defence chief says he's preparing for consequences of West Bank annexations

-(6/1/20) Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz said on Monday he ordered the military to step up preparations for Israel's pending annexation of parts of the West Bank, a plan that could stoke Palestinian violence.

I have not read into these actions recently, but I do know that part of the original "Deal of the Century" was to cede Arab Israeli areas to Palestine in exchange for the portions of the West Bank etc. This thoroughly irritated the Arab Israelis who do not want to live under Palestinian government. Seeing as I have family in Israel, I need to take a deeper look at this.

Lots of "annexing" going on these days. I guess we're no longer referring to it as "invading" or "occupying?"
