Here's what we know about this missile:
Name Origin: "Khyber" refers to the historic Battle of Khaybar (628 CE), in which a large Muslim army besieged Saudi Arabia that was home to an established Jewish community.
Type: Medium-Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM)Range: Approximately 2,000 km (~1,240 miles), placing Israel and several regional adversaries within range.
Payload: Capable of carrying conventional high-explosive warheads. Iran claims it's designed to carry larger warheads compared to previous missiles.Accuracy: Improved guidance and precision compared to older Iranian missiles, utilizing advanced navigation systems (such as inertial navigation with GPS assistance).
Speed: Hypersonic during re-entry phase, approximately Mach 12–15 (~4–5 km/s), making interception challenging.
