I don't thinks so... and if you thought so, we were at DEFCON 3 by now. I think that Russia doesn't want to excalate if it can avoid that. Until it's possible to provide supplies by the sea, I don't think that the situation could excalate. But for sure, it's a excalating posture that put all of us a little more close to the excalation... and little by little... Achilles actually reaches the turtle.

Your correct about the seriousness of it all. I’m not minimizing it.
The question is solutions, you want to make peace with Russia at all cost it seems. Irregardless of what it cost Ukrainians. You’ve laughed and joked that Russia will roll over Ukraine and to resist is all a waste.
You are as much encouraging a continuation of the conflict till it results in your desired goals.
Then lament over how serious the situation is and people are not taking it serious.
So it’s a serious issue because Russia is not going to quit and more people will continue to die. Yet somehow that is the west fault.

Your right when engaged in war there are only winners and losers.
Everything else is propaganda

I don't want to go so far as to say it ain't happening. Russia's fooled me before.

I just can't fathom an invasion. It makes no sense. But then, neither did invading Ukraine. Russia isn't acting rationally these days.

Has Putin really gone this far off the deep end?

ut oh, this seems like a familiar story. Then again, Putin isn't stupid or ballsy enough to directly attack NATO.
Probably a bluff in order to get better terms with Lithuania, However I severely doubt that Lithuania will entertain anything other than the complete withdrawal of troops from Ukraine, and this won't happen therefore Russia will beat the drums of war louder, until eventually it stands down because Putin knows he can't take on NATO.
