Kazakhstan and the US are advancing civil nuclear cooperation via the US State Department’s FIRST program: an SMR classroom simulator, Holtec International + WSC Inc. will be provided to Kazakhstan’s Institute of Nuclear Physics in Almaty to build operator and safety response workforce capacity, positioned as a regional training hub for all of Central Asia.
