They simply based their planning off of past Israeli performance.Mousa Abu Marzouk, the head of Hamas’s foreign relations office, says he would not have supported the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel had he known the extent of devastation it would bring upon Gaza.Reflecting on the consequences, he admitted that had he known the scale of destruction Gaza would suffer, it would have been “impossible” for him to support the attack. He compared Hamas’s survival to an untrained person surviving a fight against Mike Tyson, suggesting that while Hamas still exists, it has suffered greatly. “If it was expected that what happened would happen, there wouldn’t have been October 7.”
Be it Hamas or Hezbollah in the past they would attack Israel; initiate large scale terror bombings; etc.
Israeli would respond with extreme prejudice.
There would be an outcry from the world via the U.N. condemning Israel for the cruel and over the top responses.
Isreal backs down, ceasefires are negotiated. Time means nothing to Muslim extremists, so in the future, rinse and repeat.
HOWEVER, this time Israel stood firm in the face of the totally expected world outcry condemning their response.
Delivering the crushing, devastating defeat that is being referenced.
And in my opinion....,it ain't over.
