This is on the SBS free streaming services in Australia. Already watched series one several months ago. Is very good and it does highlight a lot of the underlying politics and how the military leadership hated what was being done. Highlighted a lot of the arrogant British Military attitude of the time with how it was being dismissed and undermined.

The Half-Life of Genius: Physicist Raemer Schreiber​

Schreiber was one of Oppenheimer's brilliant young physicists recruited for the Manhattan Project during World War II. He was entrusted to carry the Plutonium core to Tinian Island where he'd assemble the atomic bomb known to history as "Fatman". In the mid-fifties, he was selected to lead the American effort to build powerful nuclear rocket engines in the secrecy of the Nevada desert just miles from the infamous Area 51. The film includes Interviews with Los Alamos historian Roger Meade and Pulitzer Prize winning Richard Rhodes. As well, nuclear physicist Taylor Wilson and nuclear engineer Carl Willis discuss Schreiber's "rocket science" with project ROVER. The film contains rare footage, artifacts, photos and audio recordings not seen or heard outside of family for decades. Some consider Schreiber atomic royalty. This is his story.

Historic 1960s Film Describes Project Rover​

Between 1955 and 1973, the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory designed and built nuclear reactors for rocket engines intended to carry astronauts far beyond the moon. The Rover Program, as it was known, successfully produced three reactors suitable for flight testing, including the Phoebus-2A: the most powerful individual reactor of any type ever built and tested. Unfortunately, the proposed mission to Mars was cancelled in the early 70s and the Rover Program along with it. Still, the Rover Program changed history.

Well to be fair if done properly, it is one of the things we love about movies. Movies that are perfect representation of real life simply have to many story restraints and tend to be boring.

Yeah right! Who doesn't like a good nuclear explosion! Actually, I think the fact she was going uphill, and the nuke went off on the gorges floor is what could have saved her. I believe the effects were similar to the nuke that went off over Nagasaki. The blast wave wasn't as destructive at distance because of the elevation of the surrounding area.

Roswell Delirium is a 1980s emotionally charged science fiction thriller which tells the story of an alternate 1980s where the US is hit by a wave of nuclear attacks, and after the fallout those who remain, pretend like everything is normal even though they are all experiencing radiation poisoning. A young girl named Mayday tries to make contact on a series of ham radios with her father who is in space on a shuttle mission. Instead of making contact she receives an intergalactic distress call from space that leads her on a journey to Spacerock, the land where Area 51 once was. She is exposed to severe levels of radiation and within days all of her organs start to fail. Knowing that medical treatment won't help, her mother Wendy brings her back to Spacerock to give her to the aliens that in hopes that she can be saved.​

Helicopter too. It needed neither altitude or airspeed. It needed to get the frak out of the gorge and put terra firma betwixt them. It was still awesome.

Basically, it's a love story. It's how I got my wife to watch it.

I just watched the movie Putin. It’s a Polish film.
It’s very atmospheric and not so much documentary as it is asking the question is Putin truly sane? It relies heavily on religious themes that can be viewed just as easily as psychological issues exploring Putin’s state of mind.
It doesn’t ad much of substance to question of what will Putin do.

Its conclusion or warning was the end result will likely be a nuclear destruction of indeterminate scope.

What I found interesting is that in an interview the writer director who is polish believes that Putin is a danger. But he also believes that Trump is the right person to confront Putin. Because he to has an oversized ego and will not agree to any negotiated settlement that is lopsided and makes him appear weak.

The Coen Brothers' movie Fargo (1996) is my favorite movie of all time. It's a really great detective story set in the frozen north of Minnesota. They do an amazing job portraying the accent and culture of the region. The accent alone is almost like its own character!
