New Middle East War Thread - Reports & Discussion Unless The Crisis Escalates

The U.S. Air Force is carrying out new airstrikes against Iranian surface-to-air missile launchers on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, repeated air defence activity was reported from the island, with the IRGC claiming that two U.S. MQM-170 and one MQ-9 "Reaper" drones were shot down. American airstrikes are probably targeting the same surface-to-air missile launchers used to target these drones.

Air defence activity is also reported at Omidiyeh Airbase in southwestern Iran.

Im sure he had some well placed contacts in the administration.
However, since his current persona has so radically changed, I would question whether those contacts remain available to him any longer.
No, Carson’s personality hasn’t changed; he’s a MAGA supporter, and Trump hasn’t delivered the goods for them.

Look at the language coming from the other side. I could post page after page of iran threating to blow up Isreal, the US and the whole middle east. The difference is, THE US COULD ACTUALLY DO IT! WITH ONE SUBMARINE! 😬

If I were iran I would be VERY NERVOUS! ☠️
Iran has been using this language for decades.

Forgive a layperson for speaking out of ignorance, but when such a threat (speaking of Carlson) of nuclear warfare is being brought up as not only a possibility but one being seriously considered by the Trump administration, does anyone here think a "relative peace" rating for the DWS is appropriate?
The alert level is constantly being discussed behind the scenes. We don't move it lightly.

He has gone off the deep end
it is important to evaluate someone based on how they may perceive things. Carlson (or anyone, just picking him since he was brought up) is going to interpret something coloured by his opinion of the person being evaluated.

So given Event A about Person B, Carlson would evaluate Event A based on how he feels about Person B. And someone else may interpret Event A differently because they have a different opinion about Person B.

We see this all the time in Politics. President A and President B can do the exact same thing, but a person will react one way for President A and differently than for President B.

Hypocritical, sure. But there it is.

So off topic…
Mr Carlson was the darling of the conservative movement until Fox fired him. In his attempts to find his way in a post Fox world he became more outlandish in his commentary. He himself states he has left the Republican Party so please don’t call him MAGA. As his arguments have become more circular and disjointed in his videos, albeit articulate, concerns have even been raised by clinicians.Personally I believe it is all about ratings…be outlandish, or offensive, what ever it takes to get the audience to tune in. This is not about perceptions of an individual based on what side of the political coin you are on this is about an individual who has chased the ratings and the almighty dollar and principals and integrity be damned

The USA is entering a pivotal period—you know why! This war will not continue beyond January 2027; under the current administration, many will try to save their political careers. The people have spoken!

JD Vance:

The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. We've lost the Senate for the next 6 years.
Another pollster saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:

1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel

Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats.

My reason for posting this is not political; it clearly highlights that the Administration realizes the war is deeply unpopular and blames it for their loss, alongside their relationship with Israel. This may affect the possible resumption of the war.
