Odd Phone Calls

Yesterday while shopping at about 13:15 hrs local time I got an odd phone call from a UK number. I was expecting a call from my sister so I did not check the number but answered it straight away. There was a single word uttered before they hung up. It was "cobra". Now I know what COBRA (or COBR) is but why call me? I think it must have been a prank but who on earth does prank calls to international numbers. The number recorded on the phone corresponded to a London phone number. I did not dial it back though for security reasons also international dialing is disabled on my mobile.

Odd for a prank call and if the time is noted it would have been about 11:15 PM GMT. (23:15 hrs GMT)

Has anyone else ever experienced an international prank call?
 
You gotta give the east credit, they are pretty good at asymmetric warfare. Causing mass hysteria with drones (among other things) thus wearing trust in western government institutions.

Yes I know and when I got me home it made me do a quick online check to see if any emergency had occurred. The only thing was an earthquake in Vanuatu and a tsunami alert.
 
I had something similar happen a while back—random silent calls at weird hours. I started blocking the numbers and it eventually died down. Felt really sketchy though.
 
Had something similar happen once — got a random call late at night from another country with just a strange word before they hung up. Turned out later a project I was testing used an sms api for alerts, and somehow my number got caught in a test list. Could’ve been a misdirected system call or just a prank, but it was weird enough to double-check my own setups.
