The website doesn't exist anymore and besides the fact it was a flash player game so they don't exist anymore anyways. I had to use the wayback machine just to find this photo of the game as the website it use to be on www.oilempires.com is now up for sale...

Anyways game was pretty big back in the day. Wondering if there are people here who use to play it. I was in the Cartel 'GoodSide', then helped create our sister cartel 'BadSide' when GoodSide grew to it's maximum member limit.

But before GoodSide, was in one the original first cartels 'The VanGuards' when the game first came out.

No, I don't remember it. Sounds fun.
Pretty much was you running a middle east oil producing country competing with other middle east countries on a giant live map with other players, your empire gets about 500 square by 500 squares, was literally a sandbox, and most fun part can make/run cartels.

But was a big military twist. You drill crude, refine it to kerosene to heating oil, to gas, to jet fuel. Then sell jet fuel profit to build a military develop and build WMDs and massive armies. Was pretty fun, thousands played, didn't need to pay to play like you do with all other games now a days.

Anyways was a pretty big game back in 2007 at its peak IMHO. Wouldn't be surprised if some here played it since it kinda hits the same genre here "nuclear vibes".

Always hated getting hit with a mark 17 nukes or anthrax taking out all my flank cannons and special forces. As when someone uses a U2 on you they can't see your special forces so when they come to attack, surprise huge army you didn't account for.
; - )

Cartels where fun. Cartels fighting other cartels and cartel branches and alliances. Always wars going on and WMD exchanges. Was never dull.

If I ever win lottery plan on making the game again. 😂

I used to play Oil Tycoon 1. Horrible game but I loved the concept. No armies though but you could conduct corporate sabotage and espionage on opposing NPC oil companies.

Imagine that but multiplayer and you can build armies and wmds. Also build cartels for protection and offensive actions. Big thing to was you could use Chinooks or C130s to steal other players cash from their palace or steal their jet fuel for you to sell. All military units where based off real world hardware and assets. Was quite the game for its time.

But it took entire cartels sometimes to take down someone. Was really mathmatical you had to spy using U2s, attacks in spying was all probability the more of the unit you had the more of a chance that the mission succeeding, see what other base has, hope he has no invisible troops like SF, then plan the assault live with 12 other people. You planned the raid for a whole week ahead of time, everyone attacks at certain times by the second, do it in waves or segments as everyone built special units just for the attack over the week, until base was soaked up enough to come in and steal everything. THOUGH using WMDs wasn't always good thing as it always triggered mass cartel retaliation and the entire month/round of game would just be all out wmd exchanges which kinda ruined the round.

👉Oh yeah so no one person can get ahead. The whole game/map reset once a month starting everyone back to zero to nothing, regardless who you are or what you paid. Kept things very fair.

in the 80’s I got intruced to Defcon, my friend had got a MAC,
Neat game where the premise was to avert Global Thermal nuclear war, You had to make allies, trade deals , very worldly, at that time it wasnt a internet based game(80’s)
Some games you could play for hours but most ended up in conflict or resolution,
I kinda wish games like that existed,
Thanks for the memory nostalgia momment NukID😂😂😂😂😂
