The US Army is now training soldiers to dig mass battlefield graves for American troops (I don't think this is just for American troops but enemy troops also) for the first time since the Korean War, practicing the burial of 2,400 bodies in under 24 hours in open pits, per a US Army release.
Engineers, preventive medicine teams, chaplains and fatality management specialists excavated and filled burial trenches without damaging mock remains, so forensic teams could unearth and repatriate them after a conflict, simulating how to handle mass casualties as Trump's Iran war continues.
The Army said that for more than twenty years in Iraq and Afghanistan, US air superiority allowed remains to be flown home quickly, and that future conflicts may not have the same capabilities.
  • US Army conducted Operation Dragon Covenant Phase II at Fort Bragg, training engineers and specialists to excavate and backfill temporary mass graves holding up to 2,400 mock remains in 24 hours using bulldozers, first large-scale exercise since the Korean War.
  • The drills focus on preserving remains for later forensic identification and repatriation in high-intensity conflicts where air superiority and rapid evacuation, standard in Iraq and Afghanistan, may not be feasible against peer adversaries.
  • @HormuzLetter frames the training as preparation for ongoing "Trump's Iran war," though official Army releases describe it as general doctrinal preparation without referencing Iran or any specific current conflict. Grok

This absolute horse poop.

I have had more than one person tell me that the exact trench that is being dug is part of an annual AIT that operators of those bulldozers have to pass.
