Outbound Checkpoints for US Citizens Entering Canada.

Americans living within 100 miles of the US border OR the coast…

You are now officially inside the 100-mile “border enforcement zone” - a legal gray area where Customs & Border Protection (CBP) operates with expanded powers that override basic constitutional protections.

Under federal regulations, CBP asserts the authority to stop, search, and interrogate people without a warrant, or even probable cause, within 100 miles of any international border or coastal line. Buses and trains can be boarded without notice.

And if this sounds dystopian, that’s because it is. And it’s already happened before. In 2020, the Trump administration unleashed CBP tactical units into Portland (for instance) to crush protests with military-grade force.

No, not people. It seems to apply only to searches of vehicles or other conveyances.

(3) within a reasonable distance from any external boundary of the United States, to board and search for aliens any vessel within the territorial waters of the United States and any railway car, aircraft, conveyance, or vehicle, and within a distance of twenty-five miles from any such external boundary to have access to private lands, but not dwellings, for the purpose of patrolling the border to prevent the illegal entry of aliens into the United States;

- US Code 1357(a)(3)

There's more to this and I have a headache. (Motion sick from playing a game.) So I didn't look where the 100 mile thing came from.

I’ve already posted about the 100 mile enforcement zone. This has been US law since the 70’s and ruled on by scotus in 1976

To be fair right wing groups were going crazy over the overreach of it during Obama. There were unverified reports of Homland interfering with landowners trying to protect their property.

Now the left is fanning the flames of gov overreach by the Trump administration.

And you know what else foreign nationals detained in these areas have zero rights to the fourth amendment. They are not even guaranteed the right to appear before an immigration court.
Turned around and sent home. It’s not complicated.

Their legal status is foreign national illegally in the country.

Now if any additional charges are placed upon them regarding violations of US law. Then they are protected under US law to receive the same protections of a US citizen who has broken the law. Attorney, trial, disclosure, ect.

Even sharks aren't allowed to immigrate to the USA
