“This agreement, which reflects the shared commitment of both nations to enhance their security and to achieving security and peace in the region and the world, aims to develop aspects of defence cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression. The agreement states that any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both,” a joint statement published on Wednesday said, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received the Prime Minister of Pakistan at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. Both sides held an official session of talks in the presense of both counrties' delegations. At the outset of the session، His Excellency the Prime Minister of Pakistan conveyed his greetings and warm wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The two sides reviewed the historic and strategic relations between both countries, and a number of topics of common interest.

Israel has shown us Iran is no threat conventionally. Literally Iran was steamrolled in less then 24 hours.

Saudis get a lot of the same weapons Israelis do. Iran would never start a war with Saudi Arabia because they can't wage a war outside their borders really beyond a-symmetric terrorist proxy schemes/warfare.

To be honest I don't think Saudis are scared of Iran and I don't think Saudis signed this deal because of Iran. Maybe Saudis did this in reaction to Israeli strike on Qatar?

It makes the Saudis untouchable. Pakistan has a formidable conventional military but by extending it’s nuclear umbrella to KSA that effectively provides them with nuclear deterrence too.

Well if Pakistan Foreign Minister said this deal was in the making for months... then this deal the Saudis signed was not a haste or rash decision in regards to Israeli strike on Qatar.
