Looks like the Chinese Navy got some new toys. If the article is factual, what the vice admiral is saying is mildly disturbing. I'm still not overly concerned that China wants to destroy the U.S., so long as there's money to be made, but if I were any of a half dozen or so nations In that part of the world, I'd be pretty worried.

Good news, I'm looking at a noisy boat there, all those limber holes, lots of flow noise. Bad news, the west has run down blue water ASW capability to the point where a MING class SS can get inside the screen, and hunting subs in south china sea is...problematic on a good day. I am supposing the new missile load out is for going after the CVBG's that are staying further out at sea, out of range of the hypothesised DF-21 ASBM. The USN would do well to haul those S-3's back out of storage, but the naval staff is not that bright any more. No Bull's or Chester's driving any more, but too many L. Ron's on the bridge.
It should be a good show.
