This reminds me of when I was a kid in 3rd grade. Martin Luther King was shot and killed, and disturbances and riots happened shortly afterwards. We lived in a good neighborhood in a historic area called Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga TN. Dad was working 3rd shift at the downtown post office. Mom and I were alone. In the area below, was an area called Avondale. Riots were going on, probably less than a 1.5 mile as the crow flies. Several businesses were burning, and we could hear the gunfire. My Uncle worked for the FD and was shot, but not seriously hurt. Trust me, as a small kid, I was certainly scared without a doubt.
So, let's now bring this to modern times. This is just an opinion and it can lead in so many different directions. On the big picture, depending on how out of hand things get, Russia could use this opportunity as a diversion to some sort. There could be a social media blackout, depending on how serious things become, and with what I've read on this forum alone, it's certainly a heated topic. DWS made a real good suggestion yesterday about staying away from government buildings. It was good advice, because we don't know which way things will turn. I'd also add into that mix, trying to avoid medical facilities, unless absolutely necessary. Over all, if you live in the US, it's really not a time to be doing any unnecessary traveling, unless it's absolutely necessary. Anything could pop up anywhere, and you could be accidentally caught up right in the middle of some disturbance. Don't think that the freeways could be a safer haven. Many were blocked back in the 60's.---just sayin.
