Protests Rage On Across France

I wonder what this might do to Western resolve and unity with several things. Since France is virtually incapacitated by it's own wounds... things like Ukraine or other issues where we need the second/third biggest player in NATO to be on "its game" is simply lacking now. Who is going to pick up French slack while they lick their wounds?

Do you guys think France becoming increasingly consumed by it's own interal affairs will effect anything? Say like with Ukraine or other issues the West is facing like China.

Then there is always the chance the chaos could have a runaway effect and France becomes entirely crippled. That's a very important player in the NATO alliance who would be **temporarily** unavailable for anything.

To clarify.... Where not discussing the economic effect which would be very costly obviously for the EU. Where talking global theater issues and the effect France becoming increasingly preoccupied with interal affairs or becoming outright *temporarily* unavailable may effect things that way.

Just wonder if Putin could use this to advantage or eventually use it to his advantage if things get completely out of hand in France.

As you can see I have a lot of free time today and came across this thought. Thought I'd poke yall brains to see if it's worth taking a closer look at. 💁‍♂️

Wouldn't be surprised if France got a far-right dictatorship.
 
I'm pretty worried about how is France tbh.
I'm french, and i saw the violence growing during protests since i began protesting in 2016 during the unrest due to the "El Khomry law".
I was protesting last saturday, it was crazy violent, and i have friends that are protesting now in Toulouse ( major south french town ), and the cops attacked first the protest, which is really bad... ( it was a declared protest, so legal, and no violence from protesters before )
I do think that now, the police are super violent just to make peoples afraid of protesting, and i'm doubtful that it will work

Something has to give soon. The French police have been dealing with this basically 2 years running.
In 2021 you had long running protests against the govt. Covid vac. policy.
in 2022 you had the strikes and supporting protests in response to cost of living.
When do they say enough? Will they call for a leadership change?

How much does France actually contribute to Ukraine? Or when it comes to China?

I wouldn't think it would be a great loss if France was out of the picture in either scenario.

I'm actually surprised France hasn't caved on the retirement issue already.

Putin is looking to make a quick gain or try and disrupt the West any chance it gets. This could be a opportunity perhaps for Putin.

The nation wide violent unrest sweeping France seems to be on a fast track to all out unrest. With zero signs of things getting better or cooling off. Nor any signs the government in France is going to give in either.

I was actually stunned at Frances level of commitment to Ukraine. The equipment list alone are massive. I thought they gave 5 or 6 of Cesar SP artillery. The list has them down for 30! Damn!
France needs some better/more PR people to get the word out amongst her allies.

Well let's hope this unrest doesn't cripple their ability to legislate and continue sending weapons...

France is a shadow box player and staunchly independent. There very assertive and involved on issues that fall with in their interest. They just limit the scope of that interest section. So I’m not surprised they would be keenly aware of European issues.
Their a different ally than Britain, but their still an ally.
