"A passenger jet bound for Israel was forced into an emergency landing following a suspected hijacking by one of the pilots.

Passengers aboard the Boeing 737 MAX8 from Dubai to Tel Aviv said one of the pilots attempted to crash the plane but was overpowered.

Flight tracking data showed the plane taking a steep dive before correcting its course. The plane sent emergency and hijacking alerts, the latter of which was withdrawn.

Witnesses said they heard screaming and that a man holding a knife had forced one of the pilots, thought to be the captain, onto the floor, with “blood everywhere”.

Israeli media published a photo purportedly taken from inside the plane, which appeared to show a passenger’s blood-soaked shirt.

The flydubai plane landed safely at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia."

For those with access to Flightradar24 playback, you can see the 7700 at 0531 UTC, switching to 4583 at 0538 UTC. There are reports it squawked 7500 (hijack) for a brief period.

FlyDubai Attacker Had Been Banned From Flying by Oman for Radical Views

The U.A.E. airline later hired the co-pilot who stabbed the captain of Flight 1073 and nearly crashed the plane

“The FlyDubai co-pilot who stabbed his captain and sent Flight 1073 diving toward the ground had previously been banned from flying by Oman over concerns he had adopted radical ideological views…”

“Despite the ban, the pilot, an Omani national, was hired by FlyDubai……allowing him to pilot on the sensitive route connecting the United Arab Emirates and Israel.”

I saw on the news that the plane dropped 14000 feet in 30 seconds! 😮 Man, it must have sucked to be on THAT flight!
According to aviation experts interviewed by media outlets such as Firstpost and The Week, the plane was a mere 40 seconds away from total disintegration or ground impact. Had the descent continued, the speed would have kept rising until air resistance tore off the wings.

Im impressed the main spars did not fail. Not in the powered decent but in the recovery. My bet: That the plane, even with new wings, new flight control surfaces, new skin at stress points (the thin alloy skin is load bearing) new engine nacelles (new engines too), a new tail, airframe testing and cabin pressure testing will still never carry passengers again.

The manufacturer may buy it back just to destroy it and avoid lawsuits. (Not fact, just a personal musing)

Im seriously impressed the aircraft flight surfaces (including entire wings) remained after the pull up.

Sweet jumping Jehovah, that was damn close thing.

How a Boeing 737 MAX Survived a Nosedive Traveling at the Speed of Sound

The jet lost key tail sections after an extreme plunge, but its structure largely held up and enabled pilots to safely land

“Over the course of 92 seconds, the aircraft fell 17,400 feet while reaching a peak velocity close to the speed of sound, according to preliminary flight data. The 39-degree peak dive compares with a 3-degree angle in a standard descent.”

“…The estimated speed of Mach 0.96 doesn’t account for factors such as air density and wind speed. That is well above the plane’s maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82...”

Holy sheet! That is really really not good. (And yes, that is my paid professional opinion)

*IMO, if you get even ONE news source, it should be the WJR.They cover everything and have only one bias: “How does this affect money?”

🆕 FlyDubai plane attack by co-pilot was an attempted ‘terrorist’ act, UAE says
KEY POINTS
  • The co-pilot of a FlyDubai plane who attacked the flight’s captain with an axe was attempting a terrorist attack, the United Arab Emirates said.
  • “The co-pilot began executing his plan during the flight, attacking the captain inside the flight deck using a crash axe and attempting to take control of the aircraft,” UAE AG Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said.
  • Anwar Gargash, senior advisor to the UAE’s president, said the region’s “struggle with extremism persists, and justifying terrorism through hate speech is part of the danger, not its margins.”

Oh! Another loss of altitude?
Report to be verified

Flight data: Radar indicated a rapid drop in altitude (from 24,000 to 11,000 feet) prior to the loss of contact.

A Canadian air ambulance operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, carrying six people, is missing off the coast of Massachusetts.
Incident details
• Date and time of disappearance: Early Saturday, October 3, 2026, between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. (local time).
• Flight path: The aircraft had departed from L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda and was en route to Boston Logan International Airport.
• Search area: Rescue operations are focused at sea, off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

The FlyDubai flight was chosen specifically for not only who was onboard, but the flight number as well. FZ-1073October 7, 3 years after that day.The plane made a sharp turn and the flight path led directly to one of our bases in Jordan. It's possible the FO was going to fly below the ridgeline of the mountains to avoid radar and crash the plane into an American base.OR, think about this, fly the plane into Israel where the Israeli air force would have had to shoot down the plane. Think of the implications of that. These radical Islamists are diabolical.
