I don't think they necessarily view the Iranian government as a whole as extremist, when you look at their willingness to engage in diplomacy with those that are opposed to the US compared to certain Sunni terrorist groups. They are also legitimized in the fact that Iran is a recognized state and the government is currently the one recognized by Global powers. That curtails their own ability to wage Jihad in the traditional sense and is shown in their extensive use of Proxy networks. China and Russia hold too much leverage at least over Hezbollah really just because they have the ability to fill the role that the US has played in Lebanon for decades. I do however think that there is a larger divide within the Iranian government and that is between the IRGC and the political elite, with the Ayatollah being tugged between the two constantly. And in that sense yes I would say the Chinese and the Russians do not want the current 'government' in Iran to have nuclear weapons. But not because they think them too radical or anti US, but because they do not have the ability to keep the IRGC under a firm hand, especially not after Ayatollah número uno was blown to pieces.

If Iran was structurally unified and started to join certain organizations friendly to the Russians or Chinese I would be willing to bet they would go as far to host their own nuclear weapons in Iran. Bypass the whole enriching and assembly process completely.

Russia (if they did that) would find Nato (American) Nuclear warheads in Poland. More so they would find both ground launched and air launched Nuclear armed Cruises missiles through out NATO’s western front.

If China did it, we would send a letter. Not too harsh of a letter, but a very serious letter. Maybe. But one thing is almost certain in your scenario: The usa would roll over and then just take it. Very sad

That is good reasoning and I tend to agree with it. However, when I look at how Muslims (and not just the radicalized segment) are treated in the various countries I listed, I would have to conclude that they would not want Iran to have Atomic WMD myself.

Look what the Russians have done in Chechnya, (What did Russia do to Chechnya in 1994? - Mike Gravel) However Putin does allow Muslims to fight in the Ukrainian war as long as they are loyal to him, the Chinese with the Uyghurs (10 things to know about China’s policies on religion) and North Korea with all realigns. (North Korea)

This is all in conflict with the reports I have been seeing of Russian and Chinese support of Iran in the current conflict with the United States. So, I guess the question is, do they hate the United States more than a radical Islamic government getting Atomic WMD? Maybe they think Iran would be an ally with them against the west, I guess.

When I say radical Islamic government, I mean the IRGC in particular because I do believe they are the ones holding power in Iran at present, and THEY are pretty ridicule. IMO

When Muslims are persecuted in the various countries listed what would Iran do if they had an atomic arsenal? They want to blow up the United States which allows freedom of religion go figure.

I agree with this, but what happens when Islam starts to widely spread and there is a crackdown on it, which happens all the time in authoritarian countries?
