If their was a new world war, would the American people have the resolve to fight?

Everyday i look around and all i see is lazy. World War 2, the men and women had something to fight for, whether it had been the men killed at pearl, or just because the depression and money problems so they served for the money. But today, theirs not as severe as cash problems as their was. People today have jobs. They dont need to join the military anymore for the money. Sure, we will defend our land to the last breath, that has been proven, and it will stay that way. But would we have the resolve to take over someones elses backyard? Sure, we may even have the resolve to defend Allies. But would we, in all honesty, have the resolve to assault another countries territory in a war when the American population hasnt been attacked or threatened?

Given the propaganda techniques we have in this day and age, I believe that it would be easier then ever to make people line up to go to war. All it would take is a slight flux in the markets, and a couple million people out of work begging for money.

Yes. Considering the large riots and protests occurring in the country today, with people laying their lives on the line for something they believe in, who is to say that that won't transfer to if say, Poland was invaded by Russia? They might have to look up what Poland is, but after figuring out the history and everything, they'd be up in arms. When people fight, if they're attached to a military group (non-mercenary) it's typically not for the money.

Yes. Indeed there is a lot of pent up energy in USA today (the entire world really)., though, I don't think it would transfer well unless there was a direct attack on USA like 9/11 or bigger. It took attacks in both the atlantic and pacific from 2 different sources before america got directly involved with WWII.. But. I don't even think that matters right now. America is undergoing a loss in public confidence, I think people are worried about what motivates TPTB. Jade helm has worried enough people, Texas is having the national guard on standby for the operation. That I think is a good indicator of public opinion, at least for that area, but Jade helm has been high on the trending lists for a while now. Add that in with all the racial tension, and police brutality. Its like a power keg ready to go off, and instating a draft for a war overseas like in vietnam would set off the proverbial keg. So I think it would take a REALLY big event like 9/11 to put aside all of the current issues and bond and fight unified as a nation. But I defiantly think we would be a force to be reckoned with if there were some direct attack on humanity as a whole (like WWII).

I'd agree, although I'm not sure a terrorist attack would do it. I'd think something like a nuclear weapon hitting Los Angeles along with a simultaneous invasion.
