The way I see it is that the Global times is basically the mouth of the CCP, but with a bullhorn taped onto it. They'll show you the party line, but my goodness they'll tack a lot of hyperbole and provocative language on top.
 
I think the US is falling into a trap set by China and Russia.
My guess is China along with Russia, who is starting to mass its troops in the far east for exercises will attack and destroy all our bases in the Asia Pacific embarassing the US. They will do this in the hopes of only having to fight AUKUS and not NATO.

This will cause NATO to collapse!!!

China isn't going to do a damn thing except scare people. Fear is the best weapon, after all. And you forget NATO goes both ways - the US is attacked, everyone responds.

NATO will not collapse that is just a Russian/Chinese pipe dream. Its more likely that France or some other country would become the "leader" if the US faulters because of internal issues. Which, if China or Russia attacks, will vanish.
They wont touch our bases, that would be suicide and at that point even India would likely be on the US's side, which would be quite the issue for China, India and NATO.

China is going to cry a bit and make a symbolic move, at ABSOLUTE MAX try to blockade, which would prompt a US response as well and actually decrease the chances of reunification.

I am not saying that at all, I was responding to the dude saying that China was fixing to destroy US bases.
Also, I dont really see China blockading, but I know the military is concerned, so I suppose ill entertain the idea.

Certainly its a flashpoint and a dangerous one. But NATO isn't going to collapse over it, it will just get stronger.
I definately have got a little more concerned about the situation but my stance is still we cant give in.

If they shoot down an unarmed plane carrying members of congress because they say it is an invasion we will show them what an invasion actually looks like. They're not going to do shit!

It's about time Congress finally got a backbone & took back there constitutional given right to deal with foreign affairs more. Instead of handing over total say & authority of US foreign policy to the executive branch & US state department who have been dictating these policies for decades now with little to no oversight.

Fighting wars is a different story. Obviously Congress can't act fast enough in a surprise nuclear attack for example. But setting foreign policy and how we interact with the world Congress needs to get that absolute say and authority back from the executive branch and the state department.

What exactly is Russia gonna do about it? They care more about Ukraine, and they are failing there too! They arent going to break the stalemate and allow themselves to loose just to fight the US in Taiwan. China isnt helping Russia, why would Russia lose Ukraine (and likely their government) over it?

Sorry Russia, youll have to stay out of WW3. Where do you think Russia will try to pretend its dominant? The middle east when that shitshow goes down or Taiwan?
 
There will be some kind of response (not shooting down any planes). from China “eventually”.
Hard to say if it will be significant. I doubt it. It will have to be just enough for them to save face at home.
The trick is to not get bogged down in the weeds and miss the big picture. And right now I’m pretty much in the weeds personally.

This is a bunch of propaganda. Ukraine wasn't going to join NATO and Russia knew it. Unless you know something I dont about the months before the invasion, it was said actually that Ukraine wasn't going to join NATO. They have been denied over and over.
The "red line" was simply not bending over to Russia completely right before the war, and to not intervene.

INFACT, the "red line" of no Ukraine and NATO dates back decades, and we refused to let Ukraine join NATO because of it. Russia still invaded.
