Well there seems to be a pretty good effort on right now to do so.
Maybe if nato just said not one more inch.
On the practical side there has been ongoing training of with US and other nato SF along the Romanian Moldavian boarder since the invasion started. So maybe nato is being proactive in checking this effort of Russia.
I’ve said it before I would not be surprised to find out that various nato countries have special forces in Ukraine and Moldova already. This is the mission and purpose they are designed for.
 
Then the remaining question--can Russia conduct this"new" campaign any better than the "old" one. Given that Russia may be able to mount a sealift campaign to resupply and reinforce their forces may be an interesting thing to watch once they get that far south and west with meaningful force projection. That they have expressed their intent here seems like it might be more for propaganda value than something they are capable of if the past few weeks are any example.

No just to early yet. Wait until Russia suffers more over time with sanctions. Then the fireworks begin. Doom for Russia = doom for every other country globally. And no ,I mean fireworks, not finance.

Can’t seem a bit much. There gonna kill the human race because of sanctions that at some point can be taken off them.

Problem is west won't ever fully remove them. Intentionally . This is where Russian average citizens suffer to much. Putin won't watch that happen. He will lose it. He is to proud not to fight back as if we go down as country you all go down.

I really don’t understand what you seem to be saying. Is it’s acceptable to allow Ukraine an independent nation to be overrun.
And that the west should just stand down and allow it because Putin is too proud.
Where does that stop.
Military aid to Ukraine is wrong sanctions are wrong.
Is looking crosswise at Putin wrong as well.
I am concerned this could escalate you bet. I have been since last year.
But how do you confront a bully?

Virtually all the children in the playground of Europe and west have stood up and told the bully to stop it. What you are doing is wrong and we don’t accept it yet the bully continues to pound away on the “little brother”.

So Putin doesn’t have the balls to risk nuclear war because it would be the end of mother Russia. But because he’s a big enough bully to threaten it the west should do what.

The cruise missile attacks started on Odessa last night so let’s watch it for the next three weeks get encircled and destroyed just like Mariupol. What is going to be the boogie man in Odessa now that the AZOV brigade is buried in the basement of a steel plant in Mariupol.
Because god forbid no one is willing to call bullshit on Russia behavior and threats of nuclear war.

If you mean anyone who threatens to use nukes should be acquiesced to irregardless and given what ever they demand then say it
Because your not offering anything else.

Yeah we can go back to the Russian sphere of influence argument that nato should not have allowed Eastern European nations to willing and voluntarily join nato.
But those Eastern European nations have a historic memory and almost to a nations they all rejected Russia because Russia treated them as bad or worse than the fascist Nazi’s did in WW2.
And the proof of that is playing out live in the war in Ukraine today.

We’ve heard that a lot recently in Russia havent we.

What does Russia want after Moldavia. Romania would be nice then they would have a land route to Hungary. That would be ideal wouldn’t it.
Maybe eastern Poland it was a good deal while it last with Hitler in 39.
Let’s roll into Finland and Sweden because you know Sweden invaded Russia in the 16th fucking century.

Chamberlain plan of negotiation and deference towards Hitler worked out exceptionally well didnt it?

What did I post that was an attack of a persons character or the individual directly.
It was not meant as such but yeah what ever it was it was probably pretty acerbic and pointed

Just like Germany during the rise of the Third Reich. The Russians as a people were/are being dehumanized, economically strained as the former was up until the Blitzkreigs. Remember that history doesn’t repeat but it rhymes.

So are you say the west is dehumanizing the Russian people and somehow the same actions were unfairly used against Germany in the 30’s as well.
I’m not sure I understand what your implying so just clarifying

Maybe and it’s too bad and it’s unfortunate the Russian people tolerate corrupt totalitarian oligarchs or tyrants.
And if it is going to be a tyrant all the more reason to stop them in Ukraine because the last tyrant of Russia killed millions of Ukrainians in the 20’s and 30’s.
