General Alexus G. Grynkewich, NATO’s top military commander in Europe, said US and NATO forces are ready to respond quickly if Russia attacks Poland or the Baltic states. The main goal is deterrence through strength, but if an attack happens NATO plans to rapidly dismantle Russia’s warfighting system, including logistics and command.I see no reason for Grynkewich to suggest such a conflict could stay controlled. Russia knows it cannot win a conventional war against NATO, so any clash would likely escalate to nuclear weapons very quickly. If Russia knows it can’t win a conventional war against NATO, why would anyone believe a fight over Poland or the Baltics stays non-nuclear?
And the West is running Nuclear War Drills right now! What could possibly go wrong!
  • The post argues Russia would escalate any NATO conflict over Poland or the Baltics to nuclear weapons quickly, as it recognizes it cannot prevail in a conventional war against superior alliance forces.
  • It cites recent statements by NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Alexus Grynkewich outlining a "theory of victory" to rapidly block, blunt, and break any Russian attack by targeting forces, logistics, and command structures.
  • The attached video shows allied troops training in Finland's forests, featuring helicopter troop deployments and camouflaged tanks maneuvering through wooded terrain to illustrate joint NATO preparedness. Grok

The risk of a major attack on NATO territory right now is actually relatively low.The reason is Vladimir Putin's war is ongoing in Ukraine, and his military is unfortunately engaged in that conflict. That force is not available to threaten NATO territory. That doesn't mean he couldn't do something smaller, and obviously we do see the sabotage activity and everything else that's ongoing.
