Russian & Ukraine War Humor Thread

Just my opinion, but having a humour thread for a real life war where people die daily is in very poor taste. How is it different to people joking about terrorist attacks or 9/11?

It’s not any different. Many did throughout the world celebrated and made jokes about 9/11. Those that do and did are on opposing sides in a conflict.

It’s what people do, it’s our nature.
There are limits in every society.
But there is an inherent proclivity of people in all societies to mock and ridicule their enemies or those they are in conflict with.

Solders use it to release pressure or internal struggles they’re having with the violence of combat. Cultures use humor in war to identify and yes dehumanize their enemy’s. Often for the same reason to mask or relieve the tension of what war is costing in human lives.

To try and censure it (not what your saying here I know your simply asking a question I know) actually I think is actually repressing natural human tensions and fears.
It is a means of coping with dangerous uncertain times.

Humans are communal animals, evolution has built in us a collective need to chose a side. And in doing so we rejoice at the defeat our enemies and we ridicule them in their loses.
In short, Vulcans are literary creations and we are not Vulcans.
