I'm willing to bet there's lots of purposeful Russian disinfo that want to put the blame on his pro-ukrainianness and the fact that he was a completely legit foreign volunteer that didn't get rejected by the Foreign Legion because he seemed to be a nutter.

Even so, the document he posted is not accurate to when he would have applied correctly and not even specifying the correct legion, it's actually talking about a legion where only Ukranian citizens are allowed. Further down on the page he also complains that Ukraine "didn't want his recruits". MAGA supporters are using this confused pro-ukraine behaviour to spin that the Ukraine war is in fact perpetrated by the US and the CIA since they must have had some kind of part in the attempt because he was """"pro-ukrainan""""""""
