Slight increase in radiation around Chernobyl

Radiation readings around Chernobyl are inconsistent with a release of radiation from the reactor. Could be environmental from equipment kicking up irradiated soil. Or it could be delayed reporting from some sensors accounting for disparate readings.

I would assume it might be due to kicking up the irradiated soil.

May I ask, where are you finding these readings? I'm very interested to see the raw data.
 
Per the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine:

As previously reported, the control levels of gamma radiation dose rate in the Exclusion zone were exceeded.

Experts of the Ecocenter connect this with disturbance of the top layer of soil from movement of a large number of radio heavy military machinery through the Exclusion zone and increase of air pollution.

The condition of Chernobyl nuclear facilities and other facilities is unchanged.

The area naturally is severely contaminated. It was probably the machinery (tanks, trucks, etc) stirring up the soil some. So, environmental? yes, but caused by stirring up the grounds. The areas where concrete is would clear out quicker than regular earth ground.

That's what I meant. I didn't mean from the normal environment.
