You put just a few words in my mouth there, my friend. All I asked for was the proof this wasn’t some new story, in order to take the heat off the Biden administration for a lackluster response, getting caught with our pants down, and the potential sensitive information that balloon could have gathered and the damage it could inflict. I think we all know, the media has a pattern of not backing The Donald, and spinning stories against him and to me, this admission from the Pentagon seems very convenient. Not to mention Trump and his former cabinet/officials are vehemently denying it.

With the same respect that I would show you, please don’t assume I worship the guy or assume I am some drooling MAGA zombie. As a matter of fact, I do not worship him. As with any politician, it’s the less stinky piece of shit that I choose. An attitude shared by many.

Keep up the great work here. This is the most level headed site out there for this kinda stuff.

Yeah, we should "HAVE" let it fly. Idk why we are shooting it down just because it has the word Russian or Chinese attached to it: seems kind of like some American exceptionalism bs.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -A senior U.S. general responsible for bringing down a Chinese spy balloon said on Monday the military had not detected previous spy balloons before the one that appeared on Jan. 28 over the United States and called it an "awareness gap."
He did not provide details on previous balloons, including where over the United States they flew. "I will tell you that we did not detect those threats, and that's a domain awareness gap," VanHerck said.


I don't think they detected this one either until it was over the lower 48. The good news is now they know what to look for. (y)
 
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday that another one of its surveillance balloonsthat is now over the Caribbean and Latin America was also thrown off course by the weather, the same reasoning China gave for the spy balloon that floated over the U.S. last week. (Fox).

I could speculate they want intel gathered from the east coast or into the Gulf Of Mexico. If China has gathered intell you can be certain that Putin has it now.
 
Ofc they did, so they could get intel feed it false intel or find a way to block it,they just needed to react cause of public hysteria.
 
Ok… what the actual hell is going on here? 40,000 feet and the size of a car, posed a threat to civilians… this screams advanced nation’s drone, possibly with an ordinance package on board. That or we aren’t **cking around anymore… China? Or Russia?

Knowing so little, I don’t want to make a judgement at this time who it was or what it was, but two things come to mind - small drone or a cruise missle. Likely the former.
