Ok… what the actual hell is going on here? 40,000 feet and the size of a car, posed a threat to civilians… this screams advanced nation’s drone, possibly with an ordinance package on board. That or we aren’t **cking around anymore… China? Or Russia?

Knowing so little, I don’t want to make a judgement at this time who it was or what it was, but two things come to mind - small drone or a cruise missle. Likely the former.

Rest assured was not a cruise missile. ( Which was far fetched imo) they sent a f22 to destroy the 'object' also no indication the object was 'manuevarable' so I guess that leans it away from being a drone.

My guess, a smaller balloon..but another balloon all the same.

Per Fox News - They do not know what it was, just that it posed a threat to civilian air traffic, and the White House ordered it shot down. They don’t have any information on velocity, course, but it didn’t show signs of maneuverability. They can not say definitively it was not a balloon.

Those F-22’s have sensors that can see the ass of a camel from 60,000 feet. They are being evasive and cagey with this. This tells me something is up, and there could be reason for concern. They don’t want to tip off anyone yet or speak out of turn.

That’s why I said it was likely the former. I couldn’t think of anything other than a drone that they wouldn’t immediately know was a balloon.

Seems to have been traveling at a faster speed, why wouldn't they have gone out and said it was a balloon given how recent the other one was shot down. Personally I'm leaning towards some kind of drone, or HSGS.

Considering it entered airspace and didn't indicate being maneuverable is why I lent away from being a drone. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see as always.

Either way I don't expect much to come of this much like the balloon incident.

And to add, if it was a balloon, why would they need a diver recovery team considering all of the water it was flying over was ice multiple feet deep?

The lack of maneuverability doesn't mean it couldn't have a pre charted flight path however.

All of this stinks. The United States is being probed. I do find it interesting that the Air Force immediately took this thing down, rather than let it fly for days like the other one. The difference in response was dramatic.

The Chinese were testing launching hypersonic missles from a balloon back in 2018. Apparently it was successful. Maybe the United States saw just how effective a delivery system it could be, and we aren’t screwing around anymore.

Although, at 10:00 minute mark or close to it he does say "other balloon". Might have been just a slip up or could be more. I don't know what to think at this point.
