The researcher for strategic affairs at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Obeidah R'dban, said in the past 24 hours that the negotiation file with Israel is still stuck, due to its refusal to return to the 1974 ceasefire lines. However, he noted that an effort is underway to renew it. According to him, "repeated Israeli provocations make it difficult for the government in Damascus to adopt a neutral position, and complicate the chances of progress in this file."
