Australia’s MQ-28A Ghost Bat participated in a major international exercise for the first time during Valiant Shield 26, flying alongside a U.S. Air Force F-15EX Eagle II.

A USAF HC-130J also transferred fuel directly into the Ghost Bat at a forward arming and refuelling point, demonstrating dispersed operations from a forward airfield.

Two Japan Air Self Defense Force F-15s and two U.S. military F-22s conducted tactical training on July 9th in East China Sea airspace northwest of Okinawa.

Japan says the exercise confirmed bilateral readiness and demonstrated opposition to unilateral changes to the status quo by force.

Australia, the U.S. & Japan launched the inaugural Exercise Southern Cross from RAAF Bases Darwin and Tindal, testing Agile Combat Employment and Forward Arming and Refuelling Point operations.

Personnel are maintaining, rearming & refuelling one another's aircraft using shared platforms and equipment. Eight RAAF F-35As launched during the activity, including two Australian F-35As flown by U.S. Air Force pilots.

U.S. National Guard forces conducted the inaugural Exercise Alupang ACE in Palau, testing expeditionary sustainment and dispersed operations under the Air Force's Agile Combat Employment concept.

A C-130 landed on Angaur Island to revalidate a secondary landing zone, while forces established expeditionary communications and a medical aid station.

U.S. Marines & Japan's Western Army System Signal Group conducted their first bilateral Command, Control, Cyber and Communications unit integration during Resolute Dragon 26.

The units built one another's expeditionary communications systems and tested information exchange across different transmission architectures.

A multinational Mine Warfare Clearance Diving Task Group at RIMPAC 2026 is integrating Australian, Singaporean, Danish, German & ROK personnel.

During "Pouncer Ops," clearance divers deployed directly from helicopters into the ocean to locate & neutralize simulated mine threats.

Exercise Pitch Black 2026 will bring up to 100 jet aircraft and more than 2,500 personnel from 20 nations to RAAF Bases Darwin, Tindal & Amberley from July 20th through August 7th.

The exercise will feature the first participation of JASDF F-35 Lightning IIs and Indonesian T-50I Golden Eagles.

Nearly 500 New Zealand & Australian personnel will participate in Exercise Tauwharenīkau 2026 from July 18th through 26th.

The Reserve led warfighting exercise includes company level maneuver, C-130J transport, NH90 operations, uncrewed aircraft & integration between reserve and regular forces.
