The atomic weapons used in the bombing of Japan were around 20 kt. Now scale that up to 100 to 500kt and you'll get an idea of what a modern nuclear exchange would do today! This official U.S. Federal government film reports on the damage done by the atomic strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Blast, flash/heat, and radiation effects are examined, starting from the epicenter and working outwards. The film also contains an interview with a Jesuit priest who was present in Hiroshima on the day of the strike.
