I never knew there was a movie version of "Alas, Babylon!" The book is wonderful! It was my first experience of apocalyptic type fiction, I think I was about 10 or so when I read it and it really left a mark on me.
I was, but I opted for a lesser known one.Im suprised no one hasn't mentioned "The day after"
I was just watched a short clip to remind me which one it was and overlaying modern prepper in to the 1950’s film. Thought of it just made me laughI don't think it would work. Panic In Year Zero was a story about a modern man who adapts to sometimes-savage means to help his family survive.
When the mom took a rifle to her daughter's rapist, that was a great moment because it was so out of her normal character.
I watched threads a few years back. It was an uncomfortable watch. It was also accompanied by a good documentary on nuclear winter:"Threads" is the best in my opinion (although it's British, so not Hollywood).
I do love me some MST3KAgreed. Excellent movie. Personally, I liked Invasion USA; especially the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of it.
I wish I could find Alas Babylon. I've read the book, but would like to see the movie.
I've watched this one. Pretty good.Another one for you - So convincing that the BBC had to put out a statement clarifying that it is completely fictional and was never really broadcast.
I thought Nicholas Myers was dead. Must have been someone else.
See first post in this thread. Just merged the threads. Provided links to watch most nuclear war movies for free.THREADS

Special Bulletin-(about nuclear terrorism)
A look into what we the people would see before a nuclear war on TV... Someone spent a lot of money into this and is unique as it makes you feel your really watching the end come slowly through real news. BBC gave permission to use their name. Not many know about this film. NO ITS NOT REAL NEWS.

The video isn't original as you can tell by tittle,.. but the video hasn't been edited from the short film. But this takes place in current times so makes it much more realistic than older films.
