The Best Nuclear War Films

I have a better version of The Day After. It's call the "Ultimate Cut" or something like that. It puts a bunch of scenes back that were cut from the broadcast. The scenes are available on YouTube, but not in a comprehensive cut like this. For example, there's a completely disturbing scene in the Kansas City bomb shelter with the daughter trying to calm down a little girl by drawing picutres with her while the air raid sirens are going off in the background. A bunch of other scenes not ever broadcast are added as well.

Yes, I downloaded that version and have it stored on my laptop. A lot of those scenes should have stayed in the film, in my opinion.

I watched this in 1987 when it came out. It was Russia's version of "The Day After" and "Threads." I've seen it one other time since then. It is very difficult to find on the Internet, but it is worth the watch if you can find it:

Edit: Found it on YouTube again:
Make sure you turn on subtitles.
I've only watched this flick once...and that was enough. Made Threads look like 'The Day After'....

Yes, it is definitely the least optimistic of the three films.

Would the Terminator films qualify as Nuclear War films? If so, those are worth adding to the list.

Just watched this one on prime. Found it on utube also. It's about a CCP cyber-attack on the US.

I just found this movie on YT. It's actually pretty good. Some might find it boring since it isn't a thriller action film.

This is one I have never heard of and just watched. Produced in 2019, so using much more current actors such as Syria, North Korea, and Russia/Ukraine. Not a bad film.
