I narrowed the sideband bandwith, sounds like we got what sounds like a couple british rednecks (if there is such a thing) transmitting on official frequencies. But i'm also picking up official talk within the clutter. They probably want official authentication.

Those British dudes are there all the time, no clue why. Wish there was a way to contact them, see what they talk about all the time.
 
I singled out the USB band, getting a lot of french now. I usually don't hear british on this channel, I suspect they are transmitting near the end of their allowed band, and that it's bleeding over. This is why operators are instructed not to use frequencies near the beginning and end. Solid USB gives me faint french, which the french are authorized to use 8992.

Ya that's what I mean. Sometimes you can make out their conversations. The other night they talked about the weather. It was a bit chilly apparently. Also if you could record any french that sounds interesting I might be able to translate it, really rusty, but still.

If so, they're likely to get a letter from the british FCC equivalent, or worst...the military.

I thought about figuring out how to snitch on them before, but it's a lot of effort. I swear that I've seen YouTube videos from, like, 2014 with them in it, but I can't find any of them now.
 
daywalk/jaywalk test count. so many new call signs now...back to french. quite active in either case. Either something happening or weather has thrown radio waves all over.

Jaywalk for sure. I know the french navy uses 8992 as well and I've heard a lot of French on there at time. I remember when they went whole hog on bombing after the Paris attacks it was pretty busy. Though I don't think that was french, don't know though.

Some was french, some wasn't. I heard Jaywalk though...and an All Stations in the background. Never heard this much overlap on this channel before..but i'm not a steady listener either. The spanish sounds faint, as if out to sea. US Air force reserves 8992...and french NATO.

Well some people have been talking about a really bad solar storm going on now, so it might be that. Don't really know much about hat kind of stuff. Anyway I really need to sleep, keep your ears open and your finger on that record button buddy :P
 
Solar storms usually either increase/decrease range on that band, they don't usually cause overlap. I need sleep too though. I'm sure the world will still be here when we wake up. I think we got USAF/NATO activity, but some guys without a radio license are causing interference forcing it to bleed over. Solar can cause some bleedover, but if so, we'd be hearing from nearby coast guard channels...not two Brits talking about the weather.
 
We're expecting geomag storms soon, but all sensors showing no impact yet. Flares aren't even hitting M-class so I doubt it's xray flux related either. Could just be atmospheric conditions rather than solar weather.

Not trying to throw shade, but it's only a Class G1 solar flair. I have seen much worse. These little radio's are pretty good at deflecting all of this crap.
