⚡U.S. Stops Sharing Data on Nuclear Forces With Russia

The U.S. has informed Russia that it will no longer exchange data on its strategic nuclear forces following Moscow’s decision to suspend its participation in the New START treaty cutting long-range arms, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

“This is the first action we have taken within the treaty in response to Russia’s suspension,” a senior Biden administration official said. “It is our goal to encourage Russia to return to compliance with the treaty.”

Before people start panicking for nothing, since i have already read at least 2 articles which are misreporting and building hype over this "news"...
No...Russia didn't stop notifying the US about its nuclear activity. At least not entirely.
Putin is following his february announcment of the withdrawal from the New START treaty, which includes an exchange of information (notifications) between the US and Russia about the operational status of their nuclear arsenal...how many warheads, which type, where, for how long...and so on.
New START was signed in 2011.
This is 2 months old news now.

Russia is still complying with the MIRVs limitations set by the START (at least that's what they're saying...)
Russia is still notifying active nuclear activities, ie...test launches, drills...this is the immensely important 1988 Ballistic Missile Launch Notification Agreement
Which is the most important thing to keep the risk of an involutary nuclear war very low.

The news you may be reading today, is just the natural consequence of what was announced in February:

It is true but it was vastly expected since when Russia suspended New START.
Unless people or Russia were expecing the US to keep sharing the data with nothing in exchange

Wow! Look at that! It's back! You must be a wizard! (y)

A senior Russian diplomat said Moscow had suspended sharing information about its nuclear forces with the United States, including notices about missile tests.

The Russian foreign ministry initially said Moscow would keep notifying the U.S. about planned test launches of its ballistic missiles, but Ryabkov’s statement reflected a change of course.

“There will be no notifications at all,”
Ryabkov said when asked if Moscow would also stop issuing notices about planned missile tests.

As part of Russian drills that began on Wednesday, Yars mobile missile launchers would manoeuvre across three regions of Siberia, Russia’s defence ministry said.

The movements would involve measures to conceal the deployment from foreign intelligence assets, the ministry added.

The Yars is a nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of over 6,800 miles.

This is not good if they actually follow through with it.

Then there is this. I'm surprised at NBC for posting that article if it is not true. I knew they were fake media but this is over the top with something so serious. IMO
The Independent in the UK also did the same thing. I'm just glad I found this forum a few months back where such a lot of work goes into getting real sources and information. I was teenager in the 80's, so it has calmed many a frayed nerve, for which I will be eternally grateful.

That was a rivet joint flight. A signet flight normally.
So it could be monitoring any number of emissions sources. There are several Russian bases around Kola bay

A cobra ball flight which is also a RC-135 platform is the nuke sniffer plane equipped to detect nuclear emission.
It’s usually flying out of Japan when DPRK is ramping up for a test.

Modern journalism is a joke.
And I expected to see this. That’s why I commented multiple threads here by saying the same thing.
START has nothing to do with the communication of nuclear drills which are regulated under another treaty.
