If the top two world economies crash & default. It could spell the end for the global economy as we know it imo. I DON'T have faith that the US debt ceiling will be raised.

True. Just lost utter faith in Congress. Even to workout a simple ceiling hike. Your probably right, but at current stalemate in Congress, for the first time I truly believe it is possible Congress may not be able to work it out in the end.

I know but what if it is used as political blackmail over another party. A default would look really good for GOP imo because of the Dems excessive spending. Politics has become so toxic I have no doubt it is possible a Default will be used as a political weapon.

No it wouldn't because the Republicans would be blamed for the default if they hold things up.

Plus I think the Democrats have the votes regardless. I'm not sure if they need a simple majority in the Senate or 60%.
