Ukraine’s Zelenskyy rules out China as security guarantor in any peace deal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ruled out the chance that China could serve as a security guarantor in the event of a future peace deal with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president’s remarks follow discussions this week between United States and European leaders about how to establish a future peacekeeping force in Ukraine should the war end.

New satellite images show that Russia has been building a large-scale radio reconnaissance facility in the Kaliningrad region for two years, just 25 kilometers from the NATO border — Bild.

According to the Tochnyi investigative platform, it is a giant ring antenna complex near the city of Chernyakhovsk.

Construction reportedly began in March 2023. Since then, the forest has been cleared, a fence erected, roads built, and sites for buildings prepared.

“Pit holes for antenna masts are visible on the outer site. At least six rings can also be distinguished,” the investigators noted.

Experts believe this is a ring antenna array — a system of antennas used for military radio reconnaissance and communications. The facility’s diameter may reach up to 1,600 meters, several times larger than conventional complexes of this type.

Once completed, investigators say, Russia will be able to intercept NATO radio communications in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states, as well as establish more reliable communication with submarines in the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic.

NATO's reaction: they allow Russian drones to fly over 100 km into Poland to appease putin.

Russia Derails Ukraine’s Sapsan Long Range Missile Program

The Russian Armed Forces have successfully targeted four Ukrainian defence industrial facilities contributing to producing long-range missile systems, marking a major setback to the Ukrainian Sapsan ballistic missile program. Sites targeted included chemical and mechanical plants in Pavlograd, as well as the Zvezda plant and State Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Products in Shostka. The agency claimed that the damage to Ukraine’s military industrial complex was “colossal,” adding that Ukraine had planned to use Sapsan long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russian territory.

China signals readiness to send peacekeepers to Ukraine — under one condition

The sources stressed that China would only agree to such a deployment “on the condition that peacekeeping forces are deployed based on a United Nations (UN) mandate.” European officials point out that Beijing’s constant appeals to the UN Charter — presented as a mark of neutrality — are in practice a lever to handcuff any peace mission to the Security Council. With both Russia and China holding veto power there, any meaningful response to violations could be blocked before it begins.

That risk, diplomats say, could turn a peacekeeping mission into little more than window dressing. The presence of Chinese troops in Ukraine, under such conditions, might freeze Western efforts while leaving Moscow with room to maneuver.

Most EU countries are reportedly hesitant to approve a UN mandate for any peacekeeping force. Italy, however, has been pushing for such a mandate for several months.
According to Bloomberg, 10 countries are ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of a potential peace deal with Russia.

NATO CHIEF: “UKRAINE WILL HAVE THE FORCE OF ITS FRIENDS BEHIND IT”
NATO TO RUSSIA: WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED
The head of NATO’s Military Committee just dropped a clear signal: more weapons, more funding, more pressure - all flowing to Ukraine.
General Giuseppe Cavo Dragone says military aid is not just continuing - it’s increasing. He’s also calling for more heat on Putin to crack internal stability - aka dial up the sanctions.
Meanwhile, Zelensky’s pushing for NATO-style security guarantees, permanent defense funding, and international cash to mass-produce Ukrainian drones. So yeah, “war fatigue” may be trending - but NATO’s strategy: Arm harder. End faster. Negotiate only from strength. Source: UNN
