A senior member of a Russian think tank whose ideas sometimes become government policy has suggested Moscow consider a "demonstrative" nuclear explosion to cow the West into refusing to allow Ukraine to use its arms against targets inside Russia.
The proposal, by Dmitry Suslov, a member of the Moscow-based Council for Foreign and Defence Policy, was issued a day after President Vladimir Putin warned the West that NATO members in Europe were playing with fire by proposing to let Kyiv use Western weapons to strike deep inside Russia, something he said could trigger a global conflict.

Look at what your Western colleagues are reporting. No one is talking about shelling Belgorod or other adjacent territories. The only thing they are talking about is Russia opening a new front and attacking Kharkov. Not a word. Why is that? They did it with their own hands. Well, let them reap the fruits of their ingenuity. The same thing can happen in case the long-range precision weapons which you asked about is used.
More broadly, this unending escalation can lead to serious consequences. If Europe were to face those serious consequences, what will the United States do, considering our strategic arms parity? It is hard to tell.
Are they looking for a global conflict? I think they wanted to agree upon strategic arms, but we do not really see them being really eager to do so. They are talking about it but are not doing much to make it happen. We will wait and see what happens next.

I think it’s important to remember that prior to February of 2022 these trainers were in Ukraine even during the previous 10 years of conflict, so well it’s an escalation it’s also just a return to the previous status quo.
Also I have a suspicion this training has probably been happening in Ukraine, albeit in smaller numbers, for the better part of a year now and the Russians have been screaming that there’s been NATO troops in Ukraine for the same time period, so I’m not expecting much reaction beyond running their mouth.

Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin has warned the country, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), not to underestimate the threat of nuclear war.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said in comments to Norwegian broadcaster TV2 on Tuesday that Kyiv is "welcome to use what we have donated to Ukraine, also outside of Ukraine—that is, on Russian targets—if it is within international law." However, she did not clarify if this would apply to the F-16 fighter aircraft.
"Strikes by longer-range weapons require direct technical assistance from NATO countries, something Copenhagen is well aware of. However, Denmark seems to be willing to give Kyiv carte blanche to provoke a direct clash between NATO and Russia.
