A Su-35 Multirole Fighter with the Russian Air Force was downed earlier today over the Kursk Oblast of Western Russia, reportedly by a Ukrainian F-16 using an air-to-air missile, with the pilot claimed to have survived, being rescued later by Russian Forces. This is the eighth confirmed Su-35 to have been lost by Russia during the ongoing invasión of Ukraine.

Moscow's attack would be "asymmetrical," meaning that its approach and targeting would not mirror Ukraine's strike last weekend against Russian warplanes.

Russia's response may have started, it would likely intensify with strikes against symbolic Ukrainian targets like government buildings, in an effort to send a clear message to Kyiv.
Another, senior, Western diplomat anticipated a further devastating assault by Moscow. "It will be huge, vicious and unrelenting," the diplomat said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry demands the withdrawal of NATO troops from Eastern Europe & the Baltics to end the war in Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine will not end, “until NATO leaves,” said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, responsible for U.S. relations, nonproliferation and arms control, made the remarks in an interview with state-run news agency Tass.

Putin is pushing for “written” commitments to not expanding the bloc, which had ruled out the membership of not only Ukraine, but also Moldova and Georgia, Reuters sources familiar with the talks told in May. According to them, Putin also demands the lifting of sanctions, the unfreezing of the reserves of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the full delivery of four Ukrainian regions - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.

The United States considers Russia’s concerns about the expansion of NATO to the east and is ready to discuss this issue as part of a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine, said the special envoy of US President Keith Kellogg.

“Russia will always raise this issue. They are not just talking about Ukraine. They also mention Georgia and Moldova. And we say, well, we can discuss ending NATO expansion to your border. These are their security interests,” Kellogg said in an interview with ABC News. At the same time, he stressed that the final decision in this matter remains with Trump.
