I’ll bring it up even though I don’t want to.

Reports of Ukrainian soldiers or militia disabling Russian soldiers by shooting them in the legs.
I put it in discussion because it’s going to be a lightening rod for discussion.
It’s not been verified and should be investigated.
Just as the bus loads of people who’ve been taken to Russia from Mariupol.

Videos could be staged or fake but no way to know and I’m applying the 72 hour rule.
Watch it till the end.
This is an old tactic, based on the theory that killing a soldier only removes one man from the battlefield, but maiming him removes three men from the battlefield, since it takes two men to carry the inured soldier to safety.

I'm not condoning it; just explaining the theory behind it.

I would like to get confirmation of this if at all possible, please.
Reports on "chemical warfare" and Russia "nuclear bunkers" aren't run-of-mill geopolitical rumors, and would need to be checked, double-checked, triple-checked, and with real sources and tangible facts by those claiming to be in "OSINT" these days. A lot of anonymous sources and unconfirmed rumors coming out of Bellingcat, which are finding their way to the "mainstream media" (eyeroll). These need more than the "Page Six" style rumor-mongering (IW) we see with too much of the "media."

WSJ's Bojan Pancevski and Yaroslav Trofimov are heavily depending on Bellingcat's Christo Grozev for reports. They are either really right or really wrong, but in either case, a good deal of gamble of WSJ's credibility on rumors from the Bellingcat group leader, and hopefully WSJ and "the media" will get real and verifiable facts.

Translation:
'Was Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich poisoned? The owner of English football club Chelsea is out of danger, but suffered from symptoms that suggest poisoning. The oligarch plays the mediator between Moscow and kyiv, to put an end to the war, and with two Ukrainians after a meeting he had reddened and watery eyes, face and hands peeling. According to the Wall Street Journal, which revealed the case, the authors would be the partisans of a hardliner in Moscow who want to sabotage the talks.``

So if we eliminate Putin it will be worse

It absolutely is true but for most of recorded history we also did not have the Hague, law of armed conflicted, Geneva etc. Until these were ratified the saying: "all is fair in love and war" was true. There can't be war crimes if there wasn't a definition for it at the time that such an act was committed.
War crimes are almost always abstract and subjective let’s face it. I wouldn’t and don’t condone the shooting of pows like the video seem to portray.
I’m also not been with the people fighting against Russian expansionism into Ukraine the last 8 years. Amnesty International has indicated that there was more than enough bad stuffing going on in the break away regions for all sides involved to be accused of war crimes.
So where there war crimes carried out by all sides or was it just a horrible dirty conflict.

But the reality is that “war crimes” happen in every war depending on who wins or has a loud enough voice to be heard.

Is putting a bullet in the head of every apparently dead hostile during a ongoing combat situation to ensure they stay dead a war crime. Or just good SOP to make sure one doesn’t come back to life and shoot someone or pull a grenade or detonate a suicide vest.

Usually though those wounded were left on the battlefield to either die slowly or force resource drain of the enemy to care for them.
At this point even though they appear horrible my leaning is staged. “Almost”Anything can be staged.

I’ve only seen one war execution video I was completely certain wasn’t staged and wished I haven’t. It galvanized in my mind that ISIS had to be destroyed.

The 2nd post here is from 17 March. Is there more going on today?
It’s really kind of hard to tell.
1. If Russian leadership was really bugging out to bunkers I would seriously think they would be flying without transponders on.
2 any large nation involved in a war such as this is going to be ferrying men and equipment around. They could be carrying solders from eastern districts and kitting them out upon arrival.
One of the planes seen has been Id’d as their mercury or looking glass flights but that speculation but reasonable.
One it was reported to fly a centralized orbit which was suspected to be acting as a radio transponder to link coms.
Also few followed Russia flights closely before so we really dont have a baseline of normal.
Hell they could be flying their families to Dachas just so they do t have to worry with them and get them out from under their feet.

you read the interview where he said it, It would not make a LICK of sense for them to move around this. If these are lies, these are the strategically dumbest lies that could be imagined. You dont remove the strategic ambiguity like this and then use a tactical nuke, that really would be a last resort thing that would be waved around to inspire capitulation before use, It would make no sense at all to say you will not use a nuke and then use one. there are no massive ukranian formations to take out, and there sure as hell is no plausable deniability to nuclear use. using a nuke is religious, and here I really do believe them that they would only do so on a strike on russia, or if elsewhere there would be a hell of a lot of bluster and build up to it.

the idea of all the head russians in bunkers comes from those flights, those flights have happened before and none of them were on the ground long enough to move much at all

Putin spokesman: "No one is thinking about using - even about the idea of using - a nuclear weapon."

Nobody was going to invade Ukraine either, western hysteria...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
No sane person who has a basic understanding of what nuclear weapons can do, would ever contemplate using them. Enough of them could literally end us over night; and there is no coming back from that. It would fundamentally alter the eco-system of the planet, - not to mention the climate.

Pity we don't live in a sane world.

They look like two sleeping geese nodding off for awhile
I have seen the China CCP regime state media playing both sides of the fence - both pro-Russia and anti-Russia messages, so I would take Foreign Policy narrative journalism with some speculation: "Chinese state media is actively working—and paying—to spread pro-Russia misinformation on Western social media platforms." The challenge with narrative journalism in such online "magazines" is that facts are not the priority, but the narratives are the priority. Lifelong opponent of the CCP regime here, but always found that facts are long-term tools to challenge CCP (or Russia, etc.)

I posted a March 17 message on this in this community. But the reality is I have not seen a lot of tangible "evidence" of Bellingcat's claims of Russia military leaders in nuclear bunkers now. Seeing other alternate claims (rumors) by others. A lot of people with speculation, what-ifs, maybes, how long planes have landed, etc. 1000% agree with research and/of course freedom of expression; troubled to see MSM picking up random brainstorming which becomes "official analysis" when Bellingcat's name on it - as now "likely" or "probable" "facts." We just don't know that. Every time the MSM does this with unverified rumor, public trust in MSM sinks lower and lower. Rumors are necessary. They just need to not appear on headlines of the WSJ so much.

It was just a curious almost like a drill one post commented. On the seventeenth they all took off one after another. A couple did a landing and fifteen min turn around. It got everyone’s attention but no not a bunker run.

Looks like Russia is taking it's ball and going back home. What did they even get out of this? What an absolute embarrassment.
Wouldn't speak too quickly about what Russia is going to do from here, but obviously the results of the talks were positive.

What did Russia get? Their ass handed to them. This war will never be worth what they get from it, and I hope they get nothing.

Don't even come close to thinking Russia is being open minded or reasonable. They are doing this because they lost. They know they cannot take Keiv or to keep up the assault. Russia simply can't afford it and nothing more.
