France is among the Allied nations participating in NATO’s Forward Land Forces Finland, a new multinational force established to strengthen deterrence and defence on NATO’s northern flank.

The force is centered on a Swedish battalion size battlegroup with rapid transfer capability into Finland and a Multinational Staff Element in Rovaniemi.

NATO says Denmark, Finland, Germany and Norway announced procurement of up to five MQ-4C Triton high altitude, long endurance uncrewed aircraft to enhance NATO owned ISR. The aircraft will support maritime surveillance, early threat detection and operations in demanding regions including the Arctic and High North.
