Nataliia Humeniuk, head of the press centre of the Operational Command Pivden (South), did not confirm or deny the information provided by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) regarding the Armed Forces units landing on the left bank of Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast.

After Bakhmut: Draining Battle Leaves Ukraine Battered, Russia Rising | Opinion​

Five months ago, when we wrote that Bakhmut would eventually fall to the Russians, some readers of these pages scoffed at us. Didn't we understand that Ukraine was winning the war? Well, the Ukrainians put up a remarkable defense in what has become the bloodiest battle of the 21st century, but most of Bakhmut, including the vital rail lines, has fallen. It took longer than we expected, but this defeat has made it even less likely that Ukraine can reestablish its 2014 borders without the direct intervention of NATO troops. How often have we heard that poorly led, poorly equipped Russian troops have suffered staggering losses and been driven back from territory they initially captured? This may all be true. It does not change the fact that Russia is now poised to take full advantage of the fall of Bakhmut once dry summer weather arrives.

Kamikaze drone crashes east of Moscow – reports​

A drone laden with explosives has crashed in a rural area east of Moscow, Russian media outlets reported on Monday. The aircraft was reportedly of Ukrainian design and carried some 17kg of C4 explosives.
The drone was discovered on Sunday in Bogorodsky district, which is 30km from the eastern outskirts of the Russian capital, TASS reported, citing a source in law enforcement. News outlet SHOT said the drone had been identified as a Ukrainian-made UJ-22 Airborne. First presented to the public in 2021, this fixed-wing aircraft has a range of up to 800km or twice that distance if used for a one-way kamikaze mission. It can carry a payload of up to 20kg.
