It’s one of those weird things because everyone knows Kaliningrad is basically an armory, you just never know where stuff is stored it seems. All things considered I hope to sleep better in a couple days once zapad is over.

That’s where I’m revolving circling on. A full scale invasion even just something in the Baltic’s. Russia can’t afford a full on war with nato.
But can the continue to risk diverse provocations or boarder disputes. Not so much to claim territory. But to test NATO’s resolve for Ukraine, or weaken natos resolve for each other.
A major coup for Putin in these drone type incidents would be weaking the domestic support for NATO membership in the Baltic states or SE Europe.
This strategy is not so much I think about starting a war, as probing weaknesses and weakening alliances.
This gives NATO some leeway in how they respond. But respond they must

Bingo, Putin has no interest and nothing to gain in launching a full scale war with NATO. What seems more likely, and what Europe needs to wake up to, is that he will continue his hybrid attacks with the goal of breaking NATO from the inside. I appreciate Europe building up its forces finally but it needs to walk a fine line between preparing for a full scale invasion, and preparing for the much more likely internal division Putin will attempt to sow.

Deploying an Iskander battery on what is arguably the busiest road in the entire Kaliningrad oblast is clearly a propaganda op. They wanted it to be noticed, photographed and pasted all over social media. As indeed happened.
It's about the same as if the US were to suddenly plonk a TEL on I-95.

I like to declare the Vladivostok olblast as mine! (Texas rules) In so much as its mine, i expect a minor 300 Billion Usd for its use. An anual taxation of same. Citizens will be free to vote( for only one person, guess who?)
I still have my sights on a palm beach somewhere, dont mind, my navy will be nice when we come ashore.

That’s….unexpected
Russia’s entire Ukraine adventure is the most humiliating faceplant of modern history.
Putin sells his brain dead masses at home & his useful idiots in the west the fantasy that they’re “fighting NATO,” while in reality his army is being shredded by leftover Western junk we dug out of storage closets not even being made anymore. Not the new gear. Not the best gear. Just the dusty bottom shelf scraps. And still Russia bleeds.
This war isn’t about “security.” It isn’t about NATO. It’s about one paranoid dictator’s fixation on clawing ONE warm water port at the cost of hundreds of thousands of his own countrymen. ONE.
Russia traded its future, its economy, its people’s lives, and its dignity for Putin’s vanity project to take JUST ONE warm water port. Pathetic.
Strip away the nukes, and Russia is nothing. A failed state with rusting tanks, drunk generals, and propaganda as thin as tissue paper. If it weren’t for their Soviet era warheads, Russia would be a fart in the wind, a pathetic mafia gas station pretending to be a superpower. History’s already laughing.

Except declawing Russia isn’t the same as declawing a domestic cat. More like declawing a fully awake and lucid lion that speaks fluent Russian. You’d get mauled to death before you can even remove the first claw.
That statement isn’t a joke, Russia will never let that happen. A real war between NATO and Russia would be infinitely bloody and would last years.

Ukraine has been grinding the Kremlin’s army with warehouse leftovers and museum pieces from the West. Not our best stuff. Not even close. And still the “second army in the world” bleeds out. Pathetic. They can’t keep bombers flying, couldn’t protect their own flagship, and run a military held together with duct tape and propaganda. I have participated in such things. It is not unusual for officers of various nations to send observers to each others exercises.
It helps ensure that only exercises are taking place. Dating back many centuries, it is largely respected and in Western Armies observing officers are not harassed in any way.
Asia Armies have similar legacy protocols but (AFAIK) treat biding officers like poorly.
No Idea about Sub-Continent but I expect the former British Colony have a western take on the exchanges.
Russians were, in my experience, cordial and professional.
Typically, simply because we may soon be killing each other, there’s no reason not to be polite. Of further consequence the officers can develop contacts that are extremely useful during parlays or treating, and while discussing terms or enforcing ceasefires.
I am unsurprised.

Right, but you’re making a very lengthy post that reads more like a venting session and less of an actual idea of how to reach your desired endpoint. You want a disarmed Russia, but HOW is that actually going to happen? As of now based on your argument, Moscow is more than just a fart in the wind. More than just Background noise.
